Today I flushed the transmission on my IS. And while I was feeling inspired, I did more work (albeit pointless work) to the Celica.

Today I was defeated by someone elses work. Went to change the timing belt, not that hard of a job right? Well, everything was going smoothly till I found two stripped bolts (so looking at tap/die time), then struggled to remove crank pulley bolt. Tried breaking it by hand, tried to wedge something between pulleys to stop them from moving (wound up moving engine in a vertical direction), tried an electric impact, then went out and got a 250 ft/lbs impact. Nothing! Could not even get it to budge. So next saturday I'm heading to the shop with the big tools to break this thing. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know.

I ordered lower front bumper retaining clips just in case I destroy the stock ones when I install the SS-III grille. Also, purchased side skirt clips for a little maintenance I will be performing this weekend.

Kinda debating buying a cursive Celica emblem for the grille; yay or nay fellas?

Use the engines starter to break it free. Just wedge a wrench against the ground, take out the efi fuse, and blip the starter. it will come right off.

I am a few days behind, but I fixed my wheel bearing, hub and dust cover fiasco,
washed it then went for a little 150 mile test drive, the first time it has moved
since october.
