Went to my local exhaust shop and had them take out my broken no name brand catalytic converter. I had to remove it cause it broke inside of the converter and was making a nasty rattling noise through out my exhaust system.

Now I have a deeper exhaust note and am able to get my celica to backfire on down shifts! muahah i love VVT-I!!!! biggrin.gif

My 5S does that too. It's just the lack of back pressure. I call it a burp... or rather my friends do lol. It's fun to ride 2nd or 3rd to a crawl and listen to the rumble. Sounds mean. I took out my OEM lower cat because of the flange breaking and it makes that same backfire.

Put in new spark plugs, as well as a new cap and rotor.

I went outside in the morning, started her up, and drove to work flawlessly. Just like every other day for the past 4 years.

love the reliability.

^ Agreed. When Silver hits the 100k mile mark, I'm going to do some maintenance to make sure we're entering the next 100k in good fashion...but I've been doing the same since April 15th of 2008, the Celi's never failed on me once and I've only ever thrown oil and gas at it. Amazing.

^^ That sucks... You know, I heard that a BEAMS is impervious to fluid leaks. *cough*getaBEAMS*cough*

Today I ditched the 4 gauge wire for my battery relocation and upgraded to a 1/0 gauge. HUGE difference. Replaced the thermostat in the BEAMS.. See if you can find the problem here.

I used the thermostat from a 2003-2006 4Runner V8. You can also use the thermostat from a \'98-07 Land Cruiser, \'00-06 4.7 liter Tundra, and \'01-07 4.7 liter Sequoia.

I also replaced the old intake with a SARD intake. Spendy but worth it to not have that other intake.

Neither. Ebay, actually. It doesn't feel like anything special. It's not as loud as the last intake I had, and it doesn't feel as quick down low. It does feel quicker up top but that's probably just because it feels like I've lost some low end power. It may not be as loud as the last intake but it does hiss a lot more. Sounds cool as hell.
