It's a PITA. There are no threads in it. Apparently they're all "self threading." Just push as hard as you feel comfortable with while screwing it on and it will go on. I had to take my shift boot off to get it started threading, then I actually had to move my shift boot down on the shifter to make sure it would stay on. My Vincent Doggy shift boot sits just a little too high for the shift knob. I moved the plastic tab below the shift boot down 1/4" and now it all works beautifully.

Thanks! I didn't want to manhandle the new shift knob until I knew for sure it was supposed to screw on - I'll probably have to break out the tap n' dye set to rethread the shift stick... I lobbed off the top of it to shorten it visually too...

in hindsight, probably shouldn't have done that but what can you do now, right? kindasad.gif

Yeah, I was just as confused. Then the girlfriend found this thread:

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...p;hl=Shift+knob

Apart from having to move my shift boot down, all went well.

Haha wow that's my old thread x) Yeah it's self threading. I didn't know at first too tongue.gif

^^ Definitely a huge help to me, before I sent an angry email to the seller.

Today I extended my spare BEAMS wiring harness:

And got started painting our new TRD front splitters.

Look good.... but being made of aluminum scares me.
My engineering prowess and the degree that supports it tells me that you could tear those things up in a heart beat if you aren't careful...

there is a reason all lugs from the factory are made of steel

i'm not familiar with the brand but those look identical to my weds sport lug nuts which were also aluminum.
they were unbelievably lightweight and still handles a lot of torque from my impact gun. just watch out for some lugs. some have really thin threading that the first few threads were reported to break upon tightening.

never had a problem with mine. but some lugs out there (let's just call them 'ebay' lugs) are poorly made so go with a reputable brand. there are lots of good brands to choose from.

Today, I purchased what will hopefully prove to be a nice Infinity 1262w subwoofer, to replace my blown Rockford Fosgate PS1. I also reset the A/F ratio yesterday, and it actually makes a noticeable difference. Idle is slightly higher now (850 versus 960ish) but also a lot smoother. Might be a placebo, but it feels as if that extra horsepower provided by the SRI is a bit more apparent now throughout the rev range.

the endlinks, round 60 for all 4

Whoa! What kind of warranty do they offer on them? Moog ones are like $50 a piece for the fronts alone! These things are beastly!

today i got HID's in the GT. Picked up a never used set of TRD springs for only 80 bucks, went to toyota and got OEM keys cut from my VIN (luckily the key tumblers have never been changed out!) and bought and installed the TRD ball shift know and added the super cool TRD 5-speed shift pattern sticker. the ball shift knob is tiny as hell and has next to no weight on it tho =[

Nothing to do with my Celica, but today I picked up a DC Sports Twin Entry 2.25" SS exhaust for my girlfriends Civic. We also received her tail lights and head lights in the mail and put the tails in:

DEPO Alteza LED tails. The spots not lit are used for the turn signal, the spots lit are used for running and brake light and the back up light is the only true bulb in the whole system. Freaking sweet. (I wish our Toyota's were this lego-ish sometimes with aftermarket parts lol)
