Excellent, VB. I was originally not able to imagine those wheels on your car, they look good now that they're there.

Yeah, it's Dustin's hood, bumper, and skirts in that picture. I have his wing too, but it's not on the car at the moment.

...And I have his euro license bezel tongue.gif
I like to think of it as owning a piece of 6gc history haha

I second Ferdi's statement - looks very nice Dan. Some how, they are much more fitting on a hatch than a 'vert.

Of course not, 'Berto, I just appreciate hatches more than 'verts. Although, I must admit being jealous of your FR-S...I'm still waiting to buy mine.

Today I finally replaced the busted slide cover for my Celica's automatic shift housing. When I bought it last October, the car was 99% mint, except for that. I tried to repair the old one, but it was too brittle, and I made the crack big enough that my cell phone could almost fit in there. I dropped a couple of things down there, and found a few of them (dimes and quarters!) today. $58 for a sliver of plastic, but it's better than the alternative.
P.S. I didn't take the O/D button wiring mess apart to get the slide on. You can see the little cut I made with a straight edge razor on the right side of the shifter stem. The old one had a 1/2" section messing in that same spot, so this is invisible compared to that.

Here's the old cover...IT LOOKED AWFUL!!!! kindasad.gif

Pretty simple. Lift the bezel ring, and disconnect the cigarette lighter wiring, and any other harnesses you have. Mine is a convertible, so I have a few switches there. That exposes the shifter housing, and that's only held in place with two screws. I actually don't know why I didn't replace the bulb on mine, but it really is a 10 minute job to get this stuff out. Just try not to drop anything you might want to keep. It's a bottomless pit in there... kindasad.gif

Here's a link for the schematics (WAY easier than it looks there), but I don't see the bulb. It's not going to be buried to deep, cuz no designer/engineer is that cruel. biggrin.gif

The bulb is on the side of it so you just need to take the center console pieces off and should gain access to the bulb. It's a very small one, same as the ash tray bulb

Crawled underneath the celica to confirm my worries... Flex pipe that the auto shop installed with my down-pipe is busted and leaking like a sieve. So i just ordered all new stainless steel piping, flanges, cat, flex pipe and gaskets. Upgrading from 2.25" to 2.5" This time im going to do it myself and try my hand at Ox-Acetalyne welding stainless steel.
