First you should buy an ON/OFF switch.

Cut your strips to length and solder a wire to the terminals.
They will probably have 3M tape on the back so you can just stick them in the foot well. Then run the wires so they reach behind the radio.

A place that has constant 12 volts is your radio. Take a MM (multimeter) and check which wire is it. Negative lead of the MM to probably black wire, then start touching the positive to each pin until you find the 12 volts. Make sure your key is not in the ignition.

After you have found them, take off some of the wire protective cover on both negative and positive wires on the plug and connect just the negative wire that comes from the strips.
Get a new wire and solder it to the positive you've just taken the protective off. The other end of that wire goes to the on/off switch. The other lead on that switch is for the positive wires that are soldered on the LED strips.

Actually, I hooked up my LED's to be door activated. I took off my door panel to see the color of the courtesy light wires, (on the drivers side) and found that there was a ground wire for it already, so it was Positive RED wire with blue, and Negative BLUE wire with yellow, I followed the line through the door loom and then put in the LED wires just at the footwell, then before the LED strips start on the wire I added a switch, all it was, you cut the wire where you want the switch, then the switch has 2 tabs sticking out, connect the wires on each end, (if you buy a switch that lights up then you connect that to an acc wire, I didnt),

thats pretty much it, I have 2 strips, 1 on each side where the wires ran behind the radio,

after all my friends seeing it and whatnot, by popular demand, i bought a second switch that I will put in that will have the ability on top of the door activation, that when the doors are closed, I can turn them on anyway.

Today I received a package in the mail:

Supposedly a set of OEM floor lights for a Celica. I can't find any information on them, although I remember a recent thread. They may be dealer option. Either way, I'm not going to use them since I already have white LED strips that are much brighter and much cheaper than these. I'll probably resell these.

Damn I want these x)

Do you need anything to make these work? (Sorry, real electric noob here. Please don't throw rocks at me)
Is there an actual Oem bolt hole to mount them on on every car?
I would be interested if you decide to sell 'em. smile.gif
I'd probably connect them to the door courtesy light ^^

Poor picture quality but here's what I have of them so far.

Starting at one end of the harness and working towards the other, it has an OEM plug (attached just to show which wires to tap on which plug), goes into a fuse, into a relay box?, then into both floor lights and a key ring light. No OEM Toyota part numbers printed anywhere on it and the key ring light doesn't match the OEM light, but the bulbs use the same green bulb condoms that all the OEM bulbs use. I have to wonder if it truly is an OEM dealer option or if it's aftermarket.

Here are the pictures that the seller provided me with how they were mounted. Passenger side (RHD) bolts up, driver side uses twist ties.

I went to Futureshop yesterday and bought this, only to be told that the 2 units they "had" in store were missing, so I had to order it online and it would take 3 days for delivery.

I got a call today, saying that it had arrived (Hah!). So I picked it up, and I finally got around to some work I'd put off for a while.

The previous owner had snipped the antenna wire, right where it pokes out by the e-brake handle. I purchased a replacement cable a few months ago and tore apart my rear panelling, but got dissuaded when I thought the cable went under the seats and under the metal foot panels.

Well, I finally jumped in and took out everything from my trunk, the sway bar, the panelling, the seats, the center console, and found that the antenna cable only runs under the carpeting. Done and done. (I didn't know that the cable was spliced open and soldered to a grounding plate!).

Next up, I busted open my HVAC area, only to find this spaghetti mess from the double DIN unit the previous owner had:

Looks like I've got some work cut out for me.

Mind you, this is the first time that I've done ANY of this before. It's quite satisfying.
Time to go research the wiring for this mess.

I also fueled up for the 2nd time today, and my mileage on my first full tank of gas was HORRIBLE (290km and 3/4 of the tank used). I guess that's what I get for being happy to drive, and driving spiritedly here and there. I'm going to try to drive more conservatively this round and see how my mileage is next time I fuel up.

im looking at some plugs after the initial plug...

which leads me to believe all that spaghetti is just a harness that is plugged to your original harness..

that should look like this

when i add my radio harness looks like this

so you should not be in bad shape...

Do you want them to light up with the parking/headlights or you want to have them on a separate ON/OFF switch?

I ride mine to a double pole switch, one side to a constant positive and the other side to the door courtesy light positive and he the middle to an earth point.
When switch is up, they turn on and off as the doors open or close, when in the middle they do not illuminate and when put down they are on constantly.

njccmd - After going through what seemed like a million posts, I do have those two blue plugs, and the radio harness currently plugged into it plugs directly into the Hyundai deck that was installed. The owner was kind enough to leave an Alpine mono amp and his subwoofer in the car. It's just a matter of making sure my wires are correct.

Quick question about the Alpine amp in my trunk - it has two RCA cables running from it to my center console. If I plug the RCA cables into my Kenwood headunit, does that mean I won't have to splice the F/R, F/L, R/R, R/L wires from the Kenwood harness to the blue plugs?

[Edit] Found out mono amps are just for the woofer. Found info on my amp on CrutchField, it's an Alpine MRP-M500.

Today I....... Made a deposit on a new car to replaced the wrecked one. It's another 97 GT.
Looks like it was someone's project at one point. Appears to have JDM tails installed along with a decent set on 16" Enkei wheels and a short ram. I now have to figure out if I'm going to fly to Florida to pick it up or have it shipped.
If you guys have any advice on a shipper it would be much appreciated

Welp this happened. Will be putting parts up soon. Motor sounds like its fine but I think the timing is off (I only blipped the starter), trans should be fine. 3 of the stock BBS's are fine. Whole back end is fine. Gonna start taking it apart tmrw most likely.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU.....

This makes me so sad to see Travis. Are you, physically, doing alright? I know emotionally this has to be painful.

If you need help pulling parts or just to talk let me know.
