Going to look at a '97 Miata tomorrow, black with tan leather and tan top. Has LSD, all power options, A/C, cruise, etc... Has had timing and tune up done. Looks great from the pictures, so here's hoping.

What else is there? The domestic cars handle like ass, outside of the impossible to find 4th gen F-body. Even then the interior is so hideously cheap I'd go insane. Supra is overpriced thanks to doriftos and suffers from BHG. Can't find a SC300 to save my life. 240SX has dorifto tax and finding a clean one is like finding a clean prostitute. 300ZX and RX7 make me nervous and are high maintenance. That leaves the Miata, or stick with FWD.

Well, it's three in the morning right now... Kind of hard to inspect a car in pitch black.
Really should be going to sleep now... Going to stop by the bank before they close and withdraw the money, if everything turns out as nice as it looks I suppose I'll be the new owner of a Miata. The seller lives in one of the more upscale neighbourhoods of one of the state's biggest metro areas. So that's always reassuring to a degree. Forgot to mention earlier on top of everything else, it has a new top. Pun intended. Anyhow, it's supposed to be scattered storms all weekend so hopefully there's a good break to go see it. I'll never have the top down, but that's ok.

Got to thinking, and you know what's sad? As far as getting the most for my money it'd be one of the following:

Found a '96 Miata in Georgia. The top looks like a pair of khakis that have been in the bottom of a laundry basket for a week though...

Should have, I was just beyond pissed at the moment I had to keep myself from doing something I'd regret. So going ahead and taking money out was the least of my concerns. That's ok, for giggles I've thrown the '91-95 MR2 into the mix. It's everything I like about the Celica, but RWD and with an inaccessible drive-train. If I can find a nice 240SX I'll go look at it. I found a 300ZX, but I'm just not entirely comfortable with it as far as the engine goes. If it's been taken care of and you do the timing and cooling system every 60K you'll be fine. Sadly most have fallen into the hands of kids that don't know any better. Really a convertible isn't ideal as I don't have a garage, would have to get a hardtop for a Miata.

I thought about finding one with higher miles, but still nice enough interior and exterior and then work on dropping in a 1MZ.

MR2 is the way to go. but watch out for that mid-engine balance if you go sliding around corners.
but I know you don't drive like that
