Been thinking about painting my Celi lately...any thoughts on a colour? Stay white, facelift bumper, projector headlights, black side mirrors, black tint. I prefer the preface. And I'm thinking of staying white too, it is nice. Pearl white always looks nice. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

White does look mint when it is nice and clean! I would paint the hood though... Yeah I would want to do a nice metallic white but it would be so damn expensive . Black is so cheap lol and I think it would look sexual with my car. Also I've thought about painting the hood but I have no idea what the process for painting carbon fiber is like. Also pearl white is expensive and impossible to touch up. It's a tricoat paint and needs to be sprayed with the ground coat white, then sprayed with the pearl coat, then sprayed with a clear coat. so you have to get twice as much paint. Trying to match that paint is near impossible because you have to spray a test card and determine how many coats of pearl coat you will need to match your paint. I will never own a car with a pearl paint job lol This post has been edited by PegGTS: Aug 2, 2014 - 1:00 PM -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

It's so pretty though. Metallic is just as much of a bitch to match, have to determine the flow rate of the gun and etc... so the flake lays evenly.

today I went to my favorite pick-n-pull and picked up a front steering knuckle, wheel bearing, spindle, and the ball joint for $22.00
It looked solid enough I opted to just use that bearing instead of pressing a new one in. I'll return my other one and have a new one sitting on the shelf incase I need it. But when I went to press the old one out of the knuckle as soon as I took the rotor dust cover off the spindle fell right out along with it. and you could see where the race had spun on the spindle and the whole thing just fell apart. scary stuff, I think ill be re-torqueing it tomorrow and ill be putting it up on a jack to try and wiggle the wheel on a regular basis from now on. -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

Trailer cuz 15 hour drive to fort lauderdale fla, and 15 hours back. And florida laws require sales tax to drive cars in the state. This car was bought via ebay, to replace silver celi. Long story... We are still on the road.
Oh and this is wifes toy. So no modding. But ill get to drive it -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL

well the car is fun to drive stock, but to be honest, it wont be modified, ill clean it up a bit, like paint rims, and calipers, but it really is for the wife. Now i can go full throttle on my projects because, i got her what she always wanted. But i am a bit jelly, because it really is a car to have. its a real toy. small, fun, and toyota... lol..

I think I'll just buy a Camry, at least then my disdain will be more justified. I honestly think I should just build a car at this point, there's nothing pre-made that meets all of my needs and is under 50K.
