Yep and I've got to collect some maintaince items for it too. I figure I'll do the timing belt, water pump, plugs and valve cover gasket while it's not in the car.

Be sure to check on the thermostat as well. Probably just my luck but I haven't gotten a BEAMS with a good thermostat yet, plus I've had to replace one that went bad on me during normal use anyway. Replacing 4 thermostats has been annoying. laugh.gif

I'll look into that too when I get it. Here's a pic for you guys. I'll take a better one once it's in my hands. It's pretty complete. I think it has everything I need.

You have the all important MAF and air-box, so should be good to go. Ehh, you'll need to find a manual car being parted out for the pedals and etc... though.

I actually have most of the manual parts. I think the only things I was missing was rubber clutch lines, clutch and flywheel.

is that an auto tranny on the beams?

When you do swap, remember the pressure plate is going to be stiffer, than a regular 5sfe. And for the longest i had trouble shifting some times. Not until i decided to regulate the clutch. Duh! So you may need to adjust clutch pedal to compensate for the stiffness.

No it's a 5speed lsd. And I'll see how the stiffness is when I complete the swap.

Go drive a pre-2005 Mustang, then we can talk about stiff clutches. tongue.gif Still kind of ticks me off, but if it weren't for that I wouldn't have my Firebird as I would've bought a Mustang sooner. So I guess it all worked out for a reason.

Being he didn't drive a manual Celica before swapping it should be like jumping into any other car you've never driven, play with the clutch for about a minute with the car in first on a flat surface to get a feel for how it engages. Unless I'm in a hurry I always modulate the clutch to get rolling and then roll onto the throttle, makes for really smooth starts. Same thing goes for shifting, if you're good you can shift so the gear changes are smooth and there's no perceivable change in motion. Nothing worse than riding with someone that drops the clutch between gears...

As requested. Sorry for the crappy phone pic but it's all I have at the moment. When it warms up I can repair it with some stuff I have and eventually wrap it in alcantara
