I am not sure for which BOV would be good for the 3SGTE. Would the kit for the MR2 3SGTE from APEX'i bolt onto the ST185?
Which one is the best for sound, performance, and convenience? HKS SSQV with recirculation fitting Apex'i Twin Champer SARD Adjustable JDM BOV GFB Stealth FX Adjustable BOV http://www.gofastbits.com/ WORX Adjustable BOV for the WRX or is there any other ones you guys would reccomend. Thanks |

No, the MR2 kit won't work... You'll need to get a universal kit and have the flange welded on. As for sound, it depends on what you're after... if you want a nice and loud whistle sound, the HKS SSQV will due the trick. Not to mention, it's probably the most popular on the market. If you want a woosh sound, then any of the others should suffice. The more pounds you boost, the lounder the BOV will be... In terms of performance... BOV's don't really add performance... |

Hm....
I was more thinking of performance that the 3SGTE does not perform well with a BOV that lets out most air into the ATMOSPHERE and causes it to hesitate or stall a little. I moreoverly wanted to know which BOV would be more loud with air being recirculated for the AFM. Thanks |

You wont get the sound if its recirculating.

With a 2nd gen motor you'll want to use the HKS SSQV, it has a dual valve system which prevents leaking and minimizes stalling or hesitating associated with the AFM on that motor. If you have a 3rd gen motor, you can use whatever one you like as it does not have AFM. The only problem I've heard concerning particular brands of blow off valves is this, the XS is WAY too loud and the GReddy can leak after a while. HKS has more of a chirpy sound, while the Blitz is a whoosh. Mind you the HKS also has FIN adapters that you can add to change the sound to be either more quiet or more high pitched to your liking.

SO, I can go with the HKS or BLitz DD and it won't stall?
I want the sound, but i would rather have it not stall.. I read in WRX forums that the HKS and BLitz can prevent some stuff in their cars, but I thought the 3SGTE would be more greatly affected |

HKS SSQV, one of the only ones that utilizes a twin air chamber design, MUCH more effective than the spring loaded BOVs which actually cause you to loose performance.
