I'm replacing my factory power antenna with an aftermarket one. I have it mounted but the question I have is how do I hook up the wires. There are 6 wires running to the factory antenna relay and 2 running to the antenna. My aftermarket only has 3 wires, black for ground, red for power and blue for switched.

Do I have to use the factory relay, not sure if it does anything else, especially since it has 6 wires?

If not what wires do I tap into, I figure I can put the ground directly to the body, but which wires are the power and switch from the radio.

It may be helpful if anyone had a wiring diagram.

I just put in a new antenna and used the following wires on my 1999 Celica

White/black -- ground

blue/orange (could be blue/red - I am color blind) - 12 volt continuous

black - 12 volt when radio is on

----------------------------

When I installed my power antenna, I cut the connector and the power windows stopped working. This is because power to the windows from the 12 v (key on) occurs in the power antenna harness. To get it back working connect

grey - 12 volt when key is on

blue/red (could be blue/orange - I am still color-blind) - connects to power windows

I suggest that you use a voltmeter to verify colors since I am color-handicapped!!!!
