I can't get a wrench into the small area where the metal pipe screws onto the bottom of the EGR valve. How are you guys doing it?

I was unable to remove that way.
I had to remove my throttlebody, and remove it from the block via the pipe. Then I took a mapp gas torn to the bolt, and it twisted right off. |

Using or knowing what wrench to use isn't the problem. I can't get my arm and the wrench into that space to loosen the nut.
Where is the throttle body and are there any guides to removing it? |

You asked what people used/did thats what I used/did. Im not saying buy a set just for this, they're also quite handy for other jobs.
The throttle body is the part that bolt onto the intake where you throttle cable is, it has 4 12mm bolts on the back side. The whole on the intake manifold is where its bolted to. |

Thanks for pointing out the throttle body.
Are you saying that with those short wrenches, you were able to loosen the EGR valve without having to remove the throttle body? |

Thanks for pointing out the throttle body. Are you saying that with those short wrenches, you were able to loosen the EGR valve without having to remove the throttle body? Just remove the throttle body, its 2 bolts and 2 nuts. It will save you a bit of headache. Its still a small space to work in, regardless of the shortness of the wrench. If you are already have trouble torguing it off, a smaller wrench is going to make it even harder. Your going to need leverage to get that beast off. |
