Then the other day i had my led lights i put under my dash on at night and i turned my car off and all my lights turned off when i turned the car off. thought well heck maybe they turn off whenever i have the led lights on. i was wrong.. so either i wired something wrong, or something else any ideas?

Are you talking about your headlights not shutting off or your LED's? I assume headlights. They will stay on after you shut the car off, until you either shut the switch off or open your door. I assume you wired your LED's into an accessory wire so they should shut off when you shut the car off.

If you turn the lights on without the car on, they will stay on regardless of whether or not your door is open. But if the car is running and you turn the lights on, then shut the car off and open the door, that's when the headlights should shut off. If not, then you've probably toasted the relay. And since I doubt if you wired your LED's into the relay that shuts the lights off when the door is opened, it should be totally unrelated.

did you wire your lights straight to the battery or did you splice into the wire behind the cigarette lighter?
