94 ST Clutch needs adjustment., have to press it all the way to the floor! Options

Well as title says, I need to adjust my clutch pedal. It has way too much travel, i have to floor it order to be able to change gears, on top of that sometimes I dont get it in enough and it starts to grind gears as i switch between them. I thought it had a clutch cable but i guess its a hydualic set up. Do I need to change the fluid and if so, how do i do it. I've always had clutch cable trannies. Any help appreciated.

sounds like you are going to be needing to replace the slave cylinder ... which is what moves the clutch fork inside your transmission really easy to replace and if you ever bleed brakes before you may want to try just to bleed the clutch buy pumping pedal few times and have someone else loosen the bleeder screw on your slave cylinder ..... same concept as bleeding brakes.. if you need more of an explanation let me know and i will tell you ... hope it just needed bleed as you may have air in the lines ....

Well I guess i can try bleeding and see how it goes. So bleeding is just pumping the air out of the lines right? So open the valve and push the clutch in and when fluid starts coming out tight-en it closed and keep repeating... correct?

The slave cylinder isn't that much so I might just end up replacing it with a newer one. Gotta find out how much toyota wants for it but its like 12 on rockauto.

if its that cheap just replace it but you will have to bleed it and get a buddy to help.... after install , you got to pump up pedal a few times and hold pedal to floor and have someone open bledder just enough to get the air and fluid out, once the bleeder screw is open and you have pedal to floor keep pedal down and close pedal and pump it up agian, repeat this step a few times once it starts coming out clear strait without no air bubble you are good to go and should have a better pedal feel

sounds normal to me. the clutch is supposed to disengage at the floor.
