I got my car about 2 weeks ago, and it does't hit full boost on the stock guage like those I see on youtube, There is no check engine light, I already reset the ecu, one day the boost went right up out of the blues and it pulled like crazy, but next day it stopped, any ideas anyone?? Any input is appreciated, I don't think its a boost leak because it doesn't fall back, it just stops around 3/4 up the boost guage and sometimes crawl up the rest of the way(sometimes).

I already gave a lot of advice. There is another idea, perhaps a catalyst, he just struggled or scattered. rolleyes.gif
I was such. The pressure did not rise above 0.5 bar.

Will check for boost leaks later. But it puzzles me because for about a day it worked flawlessly, boost right up everything ok, then all of a sudden, began doing the same thing again. frown.gif

Maybe your gauge is just messed up....buy an aftermarket gauge and check your boost level then. I've heard the stock gauge isn't that great anyway.

my stock gauge doesn't go above 3/4 while the aftermarket one shows 12psi at full boost.

Can you feel a lack of boost or are you relying on your gauge to tell you?

Best way to find out is to get an aftermarket boost gauge.

Also, The ECU actually affects the amount of boost your turbo is going to give out depending on the conditions it detects (8-10psi in 1st and 2nd gear and anywhere from 10-14 psi on all other gears)

The stock guage went all the way for a few hours one time, and I felt a huge difference. I am in the process of getting an
aftermarket boost guage to see exactly what it does. Cause I've heard that the stock guage isn't very accurate.

But about what rpm should the turbo be a full boost?? Because with mine it only closes in on full boost at like 5-7k rpm.. (on the stock boost guage)

its not that the stock gauge isn't accurate...it is just far too slow to get up to the boost level that the turbo is producing. The needle should rise at least as fast as your rpms...my aftermarket gauge is already showing my max boost before the stock gauge barely makes it past zero.

Ok then, guess I'll wait until my guage arrives to do more tests. My flex pipe in the exhaust is leaking, but am sure that would have nothing to do with it
