*EVENT* 2010 College Station, Texas Road Race *EVENT*
Hello guys and gals. I have been thinking about doing this for some time, and found a track that I believe would be great and is equidistant to everyone. The track can be found at the following website - http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/performa...ing-school.html. Here are some of the details. 1.) This would be either a 1 day event, or a 2day event. 2.) There are some costs to this, but I think it would be worth it. a) The 1day cost of this event would run us about $195 each before discount. This is before the cost of gas to get there, food, and anything else you would need to join us. b) The 2day cost of this event would run us about $295 each before discount. "This is before..." c) If we can get 10 or more to go, we could get a group discount of 10%. 3.) PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE-DRIVING/DRIVING SCHOOL a) If you do not think your car can handle the drive there, time on the track, and the drive home... I would suggest skipping this event. I spoke with the Track Manager, and he said that there are several types of vehicles on the track at one given time. There is NO RACING OTHER RACERS, this is basically a closed road course that might have other drivers on the track/passing you while you are driving. Some of the vehicles on the track typically are PORCHES, CORVETTES, and MIATAS. I was specifically told that Celicas, Corollas, Supras, Lexus, and some Hondas were typical for this track. You do NOT need a roll cage, but if you have a convertible.. IT MUST HAVE A ROLL BAR. You also need a helmet, but one can be rented for $5.00. There is also NO speed limit, but you are encouraged to not exceed a speed limit or skill level that you are NOT comfortable with. *The $195 1-day, or $295 20day charge is for the performance racing school, and is required to be completed before you can do test and tune runs.* *THIS IS NOT SCHEDULED, I AM SIMPLY TRYING TO SEE WHO ALL WOULD BE INTERESTED IN JOINING ME. ONCE I SEE IF THERE IS ANY INTEREST, I WILL MAKE FURTHER PLANS* *If you have any questions.... please ask, or feel free to explore the track website.* |

I like where you are going with this, but If I wanted to do something similar there is a nice track about an hour from me. But again, love what you are trying to do!

This event doesnt have to be in College Station... If you can find a similar course with little regulations, by all means, post the info, and see if we cant get some more interest.

Yeah, let me look up the info on it. As when Matt (GotToyota) was putting stuff together he suggested something very similar.

Im assuming that this idea didnt go over well due to the cost of the track use. Maybe we can come up with an idea for basically the same thing, but at a drastically reduced price...

I wouldn't mind paying to do this, but the cheaper the better. My schedule is always on the go anyways so hard for me to plan ahead of time.

well I was fortunate enough to be able to go to the Dallas Motor Speedway last year and drive a Nascar for 8 laps. It costs my father-n-law like 250 bucks, but it was worth it. It was at the Jeff Gordon Racing School, and my top speed was 149.6mph out of 150mph. Now that was on the track going in a semi-circle... I want to attempt the highest speed I can on a road race course in my car.
