so i wired in my new headunit but some of the functions like tv and what not dont work while the headunit thinks the car is moving so where is the cable that says that the handbrake is on and could i connect it to just a constant 12v line so it thinks that is always on or would that not work?? any help greatly appreciated thanks

Splice the E Brake wire into your ground wire ( black ) and it should over ride it here you can play movies with out the E Brake up. Or you can buy a over ride switch connect the green one for video to the black wire and then the red one on the switch to your power supply to your deck. Then just flip it on or off when you want it. It's alot easier.

It should work, just depends in what type of headunit you have. If it doesn't you can just stop at a audio store and get a over ride switch I'm sure they can explain it easier takes a few minutes and cost like 5$

if u simply ground the wire to the small bar that is directly behind the radio it will work perfectly u dont need the override switch.
thats how i have mine set up and it works perfectly No problems at all |

i thought you're suppose to wire it up to the hot wire (positive)....not the ground. cause if you ground it, it won't have a current going to it
