2.5" exhaust is going to be a tad big for a 7A, even when it's supercharged (or turboed too for that matter); you'll lose some low-end torque due to lack of back pressure. You might want to reconsider and go with 2.25" exhaust.

PS: I <3 this thread already and will be very interested to see how it progresses!

I actually just redid the exhaust to make the car my daily driver again, now that I'm not traveling all over the world for work. I put in a silver powder coated ebay header and down pipe (which is burning off the powder coating nicely, but at 45 bucks who can complain) cut out the cat and ran a Walker resonator pipe and Walker stainless quiet flow muffler. It's all 2" for now.

Also disconnected the second O2 sensor and haven't had a light or any issues. (yay for pre 96)

Finally getting back to this project, bought supra 315s and 2 bar map off of Manny. Haven't decided if I want to buy engine management or wait to see how it goes without it. Has anyone run 315 injectors, 2bar with no tuning on the 7a?
Went to dyno day at a speed shop down the road today, kindasad.gif seeing the power some cars are putting down these days makes me wonder why I'm doing this in the first place haha.

Well, my walbro fuel pump, stoich gauge, breather tank, NGK plugs, and new welder got delivered yesterday, so I suppose I have some work to do this weekend. Once my pulley from Vortech comes in on Monday, I'll be able to start making up some brackets for the damn thing.

Finally got my gauge holder finished and gauges all set up. I wanted something different than pillar pods, so I did this:

just so you guys get an idea of where this bad boy is going. I'm moving the alternator to the rear of the engine, the blower will be run off the inner (4rib) belt, the same one that spins the A/C compressor.

Mounts made up (unfortunately the process took forever long), I'll take better pics of how I did it later. Belt obv doesnt go like that, I was just using the old one to get the alignment right.

i heard a 7A-GZE had been done before using pars from the 7A-FE and the 4A-GZE, but i suppose you're trying for a 7A-FZE?

edit;

quick google finds a you tube vid of a 7A-FZE

It sounds awesome, but it looks really slow compared even with a 3S-GE. frown.gif

If it's like that with a supercharger, I hate to imagine what it's like 7A-FE in naturally aspirated mode frown.gif

Yea the 7a is pretty slow. The blower on that car looks like it could be a sc12 or 14, which would be fairly inefficient compared to the vortech ... I really don't know what to expect. I'm sure it wont be a rocket, but it should make some decent torque.

Keep on, bro. Our cars are unique. It's not about power. It's about being different. The 7A is a very fun engine when boosted. It might not offer cheap thrills like stronger engines but it's VERY enjoyable.

I got an idler pulley and found the right belt length, so the supercharger side of the project is pretty much done. The alternator on the other hand has been a bit of a challenge. I made a bracket and had it mounted to the rear of the engine, then realized it's almost impossible to tension the belt enough with it back there to make sure the water pump will be spinning and I'm not about to risk problems with that. It looks like the best case scenario is mounting the alternator back on the front side, but turned around backwards. I also was super happy when the s****y brass Vortech oil feed snapped on me when I tightened it, so now I need a stainless one for another $55. BS if you ask me. Even better, I had to pull the damn supercharger apart to get the broken one out.

I had to put the car back together so my wife could take the Genesis to FL and I wanted to make last weekends meet in Raleigh, so here's a little pic of my temporary DD setup. Once we're back from vacation, end of the month, I'll work on finishing this.

Things left to do:
Mount breather can to firewall
Alternator mounting and belt
Install walbro
Cut, weld, install intake piping
Make heat shield for Hot as **** Ebay header

Burn rubber
