anyone got any info for me about the Lukey mufflers, what the hotdog is and how the 2" will perform or should it be a different size? also the best or recommended sizes of the mufflers if possible.

I vote for a bigger size(2.5') coz of the throaty grunt it'll have and the motor'll have little effort in taking out the exhaust fumes(even with us humans, more energy is used up when breathing out due to a blocked nose when less energy is used up with a unblocked one).Nevertheless, back pressure is also an important element to n/a vehicles(try driving with no pipes besides the headers on,excessive loss of power) so additional resonators will be needed to also reduce this and the chance of one digging deep into pockets for gas money..

opinions contrary to this is also encouraged as i may be wrong. smile.gif

Erm..im not sure what refers to "hotdog" but as far as i heard in fiji,it's just a street term that refers to the tailpiece(buddy,no harm intended in the statement, just trying to clear things).Well,as for the setup i have, i removed the catalytic converter(the 2.5' started from there),then i have two resonators(one that is 2.5' and the second one from the front a 2.0' that was installed lately to reduce fuel consumption and increase low-end torque) with a fujitsubo giken tailpiece.
^^hope this helps

smile.gif Wish you the very best with that but since you bought the car and it is over a decade old,my personal opinion is to work on the handling/suspension bit before switching for max gain from the motor.

yeah, smart move, the exhaust was originally for a better tone.... but since I'm doing that i may as well get something worth getting so later on I don't have to wast more money on replacing a almost new exhaust.. but defiantly after the exhaust will come a body kit then repaint and then the serious stuff...

Marvelous.Plus seeing that you opted for a 3S swap in the future, even with a turbo setup,a 2.5' won't be of any harm.but for turbo cars, the best exhaust is no exhaust at all but im pretty sure the authorities would not allow that.lol.It's your choice afterall smile.gif
hmm..nice.don't forget to post pics of progress biggrin.gif

Hey all been a little bit, but have the Exhaust installed... Ended up with a Full 2.25" with a slight offset Lukey Resi then a Cannon on the back. Sounds B-e-a-u-tiful.... tongue.gif

Interior parts around Shifter, Headunit and Steering wheel are now White. Turnt out ok but could be better...

Also Dash lights (Tacho, Speedo etc.) are now Blue instead of the stock Green.

and got the 2 12' Subs installed in Temp boxes till my carpenter mate makes up a full custom boot to level out that stupid spare and sit the subs where the parcel shelf should be.

Question:

Looking at this spoiler for the Celica:

I can get it in either Primer or Carbon Fiber style.
Primer is $238 and can be painted to match my car for approx $150
carbon is $400

Now i plan on installing it as soon as i get it so if i was to get the plain primed one i would have it painted now and then again when i get my car fully repainted in a new color...
or i get the carbon fiber style one chuck it on and its all sweet

What do you think would look better? in the long run it has to look best on on of these colors as they are the two color/looks I am leaning towards unless anything else catches my eyes between then...

Glossy Green

Gloss Black

Thanks for your help and suggestions people, Much appreciated.

Update: All work and no play, Makes it hard to find time to get some stuff done on the car..

But with the spoiler decided to give it a miss. 2 weeks ago Friday was driving home from the city of Adelaide to where i live in the country at 2am swerved a kangaroo and hit the guard rail, Ruining the front bumper front driver side quarter, rear bumper and denting the back rear side quarter/body.

Luckily for full insurance its getting all fixed up and to stop it from being a write-off i had to skip getting the OEM front and rear bumpers and get the VeilSide ones as they are cheaper biggrin.gif That is a very big positive in the whole situation...

haha seems to be a positive in a negative...

So they should be on and all fixed up before the end of this week then to get the skirts and get them on and painted. After that saving for the full respray in a new color.
