Anybody heard any weakness in those cars?

You should check out Import Tuner, May 2010, Issue: 134. It has an Evo vs STI article that points out the pros and cons of each. Basicly it says if you plan on going to the track get the EVO if not STI but that they're both great cars.They say the Cons of the 08+ STI are over heating issues and the engine blowing up when driven hard at the track. But that they have more comfortable steering response for the street and better trunk room.

I've read that the '08 WRX was a better car than the STi, but I believe that was remedied in '09. You going for the hatch or the sedan?

The '10 STi I think only comes as a hatch. My buddy just picked up one of the special edition STi's and although I'm not really a fan, it would make a nice daily I think.

not really plannng on tracking it, but as a dilydriver with power.

I can see where the BEAMS might be fun to DD, but I can see a few disadvantages as well. Daily driving it puts wear and tear on parts which as we all know are hard to get for the BEAMS. get a legacy. I just got a 99 and am loving it. no power like an sti (or wrx for that matter) but compared to the 5s...
legacy sedan btw. motors are all over the place for dime/12 parts |

4 door. the hatch's are sexy. But im not a fan of the newer models, i like the like 04 body styles. 06-2011 are too bug eyed ? not really sure how to explain it. They just all look the same kinda like the lancer and evo's look the same now.

Get the 2011 STI they look nicer and have more power plus better handling too. I was thinking about picking up a 2011 WRX when it comes out still debating though if I do I'm gonna have to sell the celica.
