Ok, so the engine is swapped over, learned somethings to hate, but besides that I have no power. I put the key in, turn it to ACC and nothing, turn to start and I can hear the relay clicking by the ECU. The only thing that works is lights. Thats it, no radio, no climate control, no cluster panel, and more importantly the car wont turn over. I even went so far as to replace my ecu and relay, but im in the same boat. My battery is good, rechecked my grounds, checked fuses...all good.
So Im at a loss here. Its kinda my DD so I need it up and running.
Thanks

Any power inside the car? Dome light, gauge lights, door dinger, anything at all? It could be the EA1 plug or the white plug next to it, as those provide power to the cabin.

There are 4 grounds that I know of on the 5SFE,
on the top of the transmission, under the airbox
on one of the bolts holding the bellhousing to the engine block, the very top bolt under the distributor.
Near the alternator, going from the passengerside strut tower to the cylinder head
final one is on the back of the intake manifold, it goes into the fuel injector harness.

If any one of these grounds is disconnected the car wont start and run.

I can swing by and take a look at it tomorrow if you shoot me a pm.

Well in hopes it might of been something easy....i switched out my efi relay. When the plastic top came off i used the metal housing to pull it out. As soon as i jumped it (basicly) the engine churned then promptly died....if thats any indication. Edy i cant do tomorrow...date night. I can do saturday though. Btw all fuses good. What do you guys think about ignition switch? Only thing I can think of at the moment.

any other noises when you turn the key, any lights dimming,

seems lately the main reasons causing celicas not to start is the ground on the transmission i know you checked it but could be that.

btw where did you get your engine and what was the mileage on it?
took you a weekend to do this ? did yo pull the trans as well?

The trans ground is good....i cleaned it ip and made sure the connection was tight. I got the engine from 2b...bout 160k on it. Im sure this is not a mechanical issue....

Somehow there were two bad connections ( AM1 and AM2) in the main plug below the fusebox. The starter relay also had to be replaced.
