Hey I know this has probably been asked before, but when removing the stock filter box, is it possible to replace it with a pod filter directly? (with the stock piping and clamps). Also, what about the pipe that goes to the stock filter box from the side of the car? What is this for?

Well for now untill I can get money for a DR.CAI thats what I did, I just got a universal K&N (which I got for Free) took the Air Temp Sensor stuck it inside of the Giant filter and just clamped it on to the end of the tube. And I just positioned the filter behind the Battery and above the pipe on the side( I believe it gets air to the Air Box).

So I son't need to worry about the tube in the side? I'm also concerned about the strength of the stock piping, is it strong enough to support the pod filter? (As the stock box is bolted onto the body)
