Ok so I think I pulled and twisted a bit too hard and the boot near the tranny is ripped. Im able to get the other half of the axle out but the other half is stuck to the tranny! Barely any grip. How do I go about taking it apart? Thanks

use a pry bar to pry it out. i had to do it with my driver side axle. there is a small ring on the end of the axle that holds in into the tranny. be carefull around the seal though, unless you plan on replacing it.

After doing it a few times I've found the easiest way is to get a pry bar wedged in there and hit it with a sledgehammer. I pried and pried and pried on one then tried the hammer method, 2 hits and it was out.

doing it the wrong way. dont pry. place the pry bar well, and with a rubber mallet, hit it like you hit your mother inlaw that caused your divorce.

The point is to hit hard and it will come. the first time it was hard, now ive done it several times, bacause i know what it takes.
