yeah, thats what i did when i drove a 5-speed. downshifting doesn't do anything bad to your car. if im wrong, i hope someone will correct me.

It doesn't. In daily driving, down shifting is just a way to slightly extend the life of your brake pads. Lightly feather your brakes to let people behind you know you're slowing down and rev match while you downshift so you don't get whiplash and you're golden.

yeah, i just cant figure out why the one guy said it was bad...

He's a n00b, give him a break lol

lol silence..... but i've read and seen it so much i just assumed but see thats whats so great about this site i learn so much

lol, i'm still considered a n00b because I haven't been on here for a year yet, but I have learn a sh!t ton more than i ever thought i would about this car! biggrin.gif

so i will give you guys a little sneak peak at what I have as a small upcoming project (hence why I want a grill tongue.gif)

Just to give some details about it, this project will not be finished until my car is painted.
Which will be around my April Vacation. I'm hoping to get the tranny swap done in March as well as another project wink.gif
Only a select few will know about this one hahahaha

so i received this mysterious package in the mail today with my name on it....

What was lurking inside that package was MOAR! mysteriously smaller packages....

Inside that was...oh hey, it's just my JDM Power Folding Mirrors that I bought for $103 shipped.
R516 switch with the internal relay. All the wiring clips were included too.
(Don't mind the knife.)

So now, I have to get the Euro glass that has the built-in heating element and this mirror swap will be a success! biggrin.gif
If anyone else needs the part numbers for the glass, well here it is:(got the numbers from azian_advanced)

Glass, Mirror

contact the guy(my_specialty), he has one more set, but with the external relay.
you could try to source the r516 switch

the external relay just requires a little bit more wiring, but if you can source and r516 switch you'll be better off.

NICE!

So I already have the wiring figured out and them setup in my room with the 12VDC converter I have tongue.gif
Very simple wiring, just match the colors. It like effing preschool, except with splicing wires.
Found out that the gear in the passenger side one (our drivers side) is popping out and/or not catching properly when it closes so I will have to take it apart.
Not a big deal though, it seems very simple.

Edit: I should just say this is a metaphor for how I feel about my car. It didn't blow up so don't worry...
