Removing all the good stuff to take off less rotating mass, would that even be worth loosing A/C in like 100 degree heat?

It depends on how well you like being able to steer the car easily and how you like the heat. Personally, I really want A/C and power steering.

Last summer, did you like driving in 100 degree weather without the A/C on?

Also, you can put your car in neutral, turn off your car while driving , then turn it to on to prevent your steering from locking up, and that's what it should be like driving without power steering. wink.gif

All that so you can get from point A to Point B in 16.5 seconds instead of 16.9 seconds... hmm...

It's a matter of prefrence and paranoia... ;]

Yah, I'm pretty nuts when it comes to weight reduction and parasitic loss reduction, but I wouldn't even do that. Modern p/s pumps don't take much power to run at all, maybe 1hp. The AC shouldn't take hardly anything at all when its off.

This used to be a good idea on old cars because the pumps were really really innefficient and the AC compressors weighed 50lbs. Times have changed.

Man, driving the car without PS is horrible. Plus, it'll take away the Celica's sweetness...you'll feel like you're driving a damn Gran Torino tongue.gif
