if ur not wanting over 200hp then u dont really have to build motor but if your wanting more i suggest you look into spending more than 2000$, just the turbo and set up it self will end up costing you around 2grand if not more and be reliable.. as for building the 7a you need to check out www.importperformanceparts.net .(ipp). Look into there HP engine rebuild kit with forged piston for just alittle over 1000.00 i think it was 1004.00 after shipping when i purchased from them earlier this year. but you are going to need a stronger clutch kit.. from ipp, they offer some great clutch kits i ordered the fidanza stg3 kit and that alone was 400 with shipping... you now have only 600 left if you decide on wanting to build the motor for boost.. not considering labor for machine work to block and head.... but if that is not the route you want to go check out smaay's kit he is offering for right around 2000 which includes everything to boost it.. great deal if you ask me .... any questions let me know and good luck !

Is this car your DD?If so i recommend a 4ag(z)e...If your looking for serious power i would go 4agte..The 7afe has never been pushed past around 230whp SO FAR...

Just FYI the "custom" mounts are drilling holes in the pre-marked areas on the fender well, and simply bolting a GT mount there...no welding or anything.

yeah 2g's as much as it sounds will not get you very far tongue.gif. And turboing is not as simple as slap a turbo on, requires custom work as well frown.gif
Talking to steph (hurley97) she spent like 4-5k in parts. Her is done very! nice and i believe it to be pretty reliable.
And you get what you pay for... turboing an engine/car, not meant for turbo.... your always going to be tinkering, and I can almost guarantee something will go wrong, and will require more work and hours of tinkering again.
But it is a very interesting project and has been done, so more power to you if you decide to go for it. And im sure alot of members could help out, but its not an easy process...

if this helps put your mind more into the reality of turboing a 7a, ive been trying to do it for 4 months now. still isnt turboed. One thing after the other with parts. I can go ahead and tell you oil lines and manifold will be the biggest issue to start. And im still working on it. I just the other day got my lines worked out and now im gunna spend more money to get the turbo to fit properly. Im having to take the ac out and move to a civic radiator so i have some more room. And im pretty sure theres going to be time once i get it on and trying to get fuel, psi, bov, wastegate ect. all worked out. Its more of a learning process then anything.

Diego, get an LTX8 or something that controls timing. When I had my setup, the three times I broke a piston was because of timing. Even though I had an eManage, the stock ECU loved to advance the heck out of timing. I still have my 7A-FE waiting in the garage and will swap it to a Corolla or a Tercel when I finish my 3S swap. I won't bother with stock internals. The pistons are way weaker than the rods. I never hurt a rod. It was always a piston. Say no to stock internals (especially pistons) if you want over 220 reliable, long-lasting ponnies and you don't have a stand-alone ECU. It's MANDATORY. Timing advance is a problem with the stock ECU.
