Anyone knows a good aftermarket replacement for the hose connecting the airfilter box and the intake?
Mine is cracking all over and falling apart after 15 years of engine heat... I guess any used would present the same problem soon?
I do not quite want to replace the stock airfilter for performance sake yet.
Thanks!

You might not want to, but it's going to be much cheaper going on ebay and getting an aftermarket kit, rather than buying oem parts. On the other hand, if you just can't stand going aftermarket, and you want to keep it stock, you could go to Toyota, or you could search ebay, but if you get one off another car, you'll just have the same problems.

don't buy the cheap dryer hose type stuff like you're talking about; it falls apart and then you have to worry about what is coming into your intake past the filter. u may not want to yet, but ur best bet for this situation is to buy a cold air intake from a guy off ebay. theres a seller (chromeintakes) that sells "custom made" intakes that will fit the celica and its only like $40

Thanks. Who used those filters - are they reliable and have sensor attachment (one into the airbox)? I do not want my engine fall apart soon.
How about the sound change?

The filters are fine; I've used them. I believe they have a sensor attachment point, if not, all it is is drilling a small hole then plugging the IAT sensor in.

Hi,

What is your experience with it - particularly engine sound change? Is it well secured in the bay?
Thanks!

the ebay cold air intake is fine.. comes with a filter that has inner and outer cone.. and it DOES have the sensor hole... as far as sound change, the only difference is you can really HEAR the engine sucking in the air, it sounds pretty mean... the exhaust may sound a little deeper, but nothing noticeable

Thanks! Are you familiar with this one:

it is pretty cheap, does it mean that the filter is **** (as everything else is the same)?

BTW - does this installation effect emissions passage?

it won't affect emissions, The only sound change is really during Wide open throttle. It is lightweight enough to be secured on the throttle body and not move around. And the filter will outlast your car. Trust me.

Does it mean that the filter is so bad that the car (engine) won't last long? wink.gif

BTW - any wet weather/rain ramifications?

Thanks!

im familiar with this one:

this guy has several different listings at different prices, just find the one that gonna fit your car. I've seen the pricing as low as $35 + $10 shipping. Costs a little more than the listing you posted, but I KNOW this one is good
