The 2JZGTE is a powerful engine... but truth is, for most race-spec Supras, they swapped it out for a 3SGTE because it's lighter and you can squeeze pretty similar figures out of it this is pure BS!!! you show me a stock 3S-GTE longblock that can take 700 HP and i will put your balls in my mouth! my supra engine is 100% stock and im making over 700HP. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

2JZ is a more powerful engine, no questions about that, the reason why some supras had 3sgtes is because of the overall improvement, not just the power.
3sgte is light and since is short can be installed further back closer to the center of the car, so you'd get a lighter car with better weight distribution and " similar " power, not saying the 3sgte will make the same power, but if the build was planned for let's say 700 hp, and with supporting mods, you can squeeze that out of a 3sgte, then it'd make a better race car, but no, when talking about power, 2jz owns, throw equal amount of money to both engines and 2jz will come on top everytime. THANK YOU FOR KNOWING WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT Lol when I said that, everyone took it to mean that I think that the 3SGTE can make the same hp a 2JZGTE. Jeez... And Smaay, I had the same argument with SupraKid on the first page and made my point very clear on the overall performance advantages, not hp gains.
