i should be getting a gt-4 bumper soon, and i have been reading around on the install, and there is one thing that is a bit fuzzy to me and since you have done it, i figure i could try to ask you. did you have to modify anything to close the hood? i know about the crash bar mod, but in the convert to a gt4 front end thread, it was saying that the hood would hit before it could close. is there truth to this?

The part of the GT-Four bumper thats above the Toyota emblem is taller than a USDM front bumper. So yeah, if you have a Stock hood, it will sit lower than the top part of the bumper, but there's an easy fix for that!

... buy the GT-Four hood too! LOL laugh.gif

i know it will sit lower, but will the stock hood still close? (i dont want a gt4 hood kindasad.gif )

Finally got the trd front suspension and the 7th gen brakes off of the black coupe. I'll try to get them on the car tomorrow when i swap in the new clutch.

here are the pics requested of the gt4 front bumper and stock hood.

I don't have the upper support that runs along the bumper and i didnt do the tall washers or metal tabs to account for this either. I'll do that when i put the gt4 hood on, but the pics give you a good idea how it sits. I can open the hood just fine and it doesn't look bad, unless you get real close and see its not the right hood/bumper.

EDIT: wow you can really tell I need more clear coat on that bumper!
happy thanksgiving, more to come tonight.

That actually doesn't look half bad! You should throw some LED's in the gap so you can make some sort of accent light that will shine up the hood lol

Opens easy, a little tighter, but not a problem at all.

So I've been fighting with the 7th gen seats for a while and cannot switch the brackets over like I read in a different thread. I am convinced that my older version seats (94) are causing the issues so I am drilling the mounting tabs off of the rails and welding them over to the other seats. Gives me an excuse to use the new welder I bought and I can finish this project.

I'm also adding the heated seat elements while I'm at it.

some pics off the differences:

the mess i created:

OK STOP. U use the metal support of your celica and put the cushion of the 7th gen celica into your metal support.

The metal support of the 7th gen does not nor will ever fit any 6th gen.

Thats what i didi with my mr2 seats

.........please excuse that post, DayQil makes me silly. After looking at the last post here, I had no idea that the 94 is way off from the other years. Totally sucks. If I had a spare set they'd be yours, but I had 94's. Best of luck!

ok i see ur problem

the 94 seats and 95 seats are different..

these are ur seats

and these are my seats

notice the diffrence in the knob.. the earlier seats had more plastic, thats why your basket is different...

I have some baskets and rails, lmk do not weld, see how my mr2 seats fit fine...

put a close up pick of yout 6th gen rails...you may just need the plastics and the baskets, and no the whole bracket...

this is the bracket, if it looks like this, then just get the other parts.

worked all day yesterday for about 12 hours in my buddy's garage. Got a lot done. Looks like from everyone's posts I just need the seat guts from a 95+. I've had 5 celicas and never knew the seats changed over the years, probably since all 5 have been 94's. Anywho, here is the progress...

Progress:
-Installed OEM clutch disk with Exedy stage 2 pressure plate (manny correct me if im wrong)
-Installed Kirkasaurus poly motor mounts
-Installed TRD front lowering springs
-New output shaft seals while I was at it as well

This took me way too long..

The garage I was lucky enough to spend some time in..

Chucks and Coveralls

The trunk of parts to put on:

removing stuff..

old clutch..

I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted since I was busy most of the time and my hands were completly black and greasy. I took the brakes off the coupe to put on the celica, under the impression that they were the front brakes from a 7th gen. (this is another one of the wonderful things the owner of the coupe told me was on the car that ended up already being removed..) anywho, I noticed they looked small, but took them with me anyways and sure enough they were way smaller than the stock brakes GT front calipers, so I suspect they were just ST front calipers? I didn't know the ST front's were that much smaller than the GT's?

thats the pads of the GT brakes on my car and the pad of the other calipers I am holding next to them.

Pic with the front lowered. Finally looks decent. Got the valve stems replaced since one was leaking and got an alignment.
