If the coolant the previous owner put in was green, it may have mixed with the toyota coolant which is red.

soooo.... ugh.... what you doing with that stereo? lol Sold it to a friend, sorry.. PROGRESS Started tearing a few things off of the engine. I'm only going to do a few small things before it goes into my car. Things I'll buy and put on before I swap it in: -Lightweight flywheel -New Clutch (unsprung disc) -Berk Tech 3in Downpipe -Few maintenance things as needed pics: Anyone know what this is? It escapes me, I know I should remember.. some temperature probe. Do I need to keep it? Found this.. wasn't to impressed with this bit since the engine was professionally swapped by a company a lot of us know. I thought this was fairly poor technique, but may have happened after the fact. This post has been edited by jcbass7: May 8, 2012 - 12:32 PM |

You wouldn't happen to be getting rid of the timing covers, hey Jess? -------------------- |

That is the cat temp sensor, not needed at all.
It's only wired to the st205 gauge cluster and will put a light on if it gets too hot. -------------------- |

So I also started setting up a project to lower my seat. I just have a static mock up right now to inspire ideas of how I can pull it off. I want to lower my seat closer to the floor since I am tall (6'4") and do not fit comfortably in the celica. I also have a sunroof, so thats killing some headroom also. |

I'm 6'6" - so I feel your pain, but I'm also lucky that I don't have a sunroof. Wouldn't it be easier for you to remove the sunroof? -------------------- |

PROGRESS:
-Lowered stock seat height by 2 in -Installed GT4 hood rain deflector -Test fit a different style prosport gauge to determine which direction to go pics: I finally fit in my car! I only lowered the back, so the front sits a bit higher now, being angled up. Its hard to notice unless you are looking for it, and its not uncomfortable since I am so tall my legs sit high anyway. Its actually more comfortable for me since the seat buckets me a bit more and I don't have to slouch. I like the new one on the right, the EVO series.. Going to go with those for my set-up My hood really needs paint and I need to replace the rubber around the grill there, but the deflector looks awesome! such a nice subtle addition, but so perfect. |

That looks great Jess - 2 things, and I'm sure you've mentioned the one already in this build somewhere, but
(1) How did you get your 7th Gen Seats mounted? (2) It's kind of hard to tell from the pics, but how did you modify the rail in the back to make it mount lower? Being 6' 6" - I'm very interested in this... although I don't have a sunroof on my GT-S so its not that big of a deal I guess... -------------------- |

Hopefully this helps with the 7th gen questions http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=83840 better pics.. of lowering The brackets are smaller than before. I tried my best to put some support on the bottom sides, hard to see in the photos but they are strong. This post has been edited by jcbass7: May 18, 2012 - 12:46 PM |

That's what you get for being tall and not 5'10" like me. Who's laughing now? Good job though. May have to do that on the passenger side, my brother is on the tall side and I have the sunroof.

you are a wild man Jesse. haha I don't think I'll ever stop messing with this car (or a celica, given my history lol) That's what you get for being tall and not 5'10" like me. Who's laughing now? Good job though. May have to do that on the passenger side, my brother is on the tall side and I have the sunroof. I have to drive my other car with the t-tops off or its really uncomfortable haha Better pic of the deflector, I love this thing |

Is that a vinyl decal on the rain shield or were you one of the lucky ones to get the TRD etched ones?
