im just trying to save some money and wire in the aem Fic by myself with some help from my step dad who owns a shop and car dealership.. I basically just want to know just how hard it is to wire it in . tuning shops around here want to charge anywhere from 100-800 depending on the whole wiring in is.. the Fic i can get for 350 shipped to my door from acceleratedperformance.com which is really good deal... they want 550 to tune it and that is not installing and i have to save as much as possible or i wont be boosted but i will at least have a fully built 7afe... what do you guys think about this whole situation... lol and no i dont want to drop in the 3sgte

ok first off, ill answer your question. its not hard if you pull the harness out behind the firewall and then run it back down. the FIC comes with a long harness. now here is what id recommend, get one of these,http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/Merchant...Code=OBDHARNESS and patch the FIC into it, that way you are not hacking up your factory harness.
now here is something to think about. If you search in the FI section, you will see that i produce a turbo kit for the 7A-FE. it comes with engine management. this system works so much better than the FIC. I have, well i now say had, an FIC on my 5S-FTE car, but i have since taken it off and now using the same Split Second piggyback. i havent had much time to finish tuning it, but the tune for the 7A is good to go. Plus the SS unit comes tuned, you should only need 1 hour of dyno tuning to dial the tune into your car since every car is a little different. but the tune loaded will be conservative so you can run it fine. Smaay, what would be the target market of the Split Second tuning box?
Low HP setups, possibility of running a serious HP setup, just wondering how it would compare to say Emanage? |

my partner in crime that does alot of my fab work has used these SS units on 700HP hondas. its capable of doing the job. it does not have a datalogging ability like the emanage has or the PFC or AEM. Its a good unit for what it does and its fairly inexpensive.

This is the same/similar to tweak's patch harness? I need one for my 97. It's $60 cheaper? |
