I took my teenage son to see "let Me In" fully expecting to sleep thru some Twilight-esque gheyness. I was pleasently surprised that it was actually an original take that deglamorised the Vampire SubGenre. As Ping said - it's nice to see Vampires portrayed as monsters again. Plus it was nice to see the thirst from the vampire's POV - an unfortunate addiction that must be quenched despite the repurcussions.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else see it? Thoughts?

Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.

i saw it with my girl who is REEAALY into vampires (it concerns me) tongue.gif

I fell asleep during the first 20 minutes b/c it was so slow, but it was worth my 5 bucks to see at the theatre. I liked the non glamourized aspect it came from and the old school vampire myths it had.

ex: i didnt know a vampire must ask permission before they come into your home (granting permission gives them dominance or somethin)

and some other tidbits i cant remember off hand.... girlfriend is really into stuff like that and gave me all sorts of info.

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.

Yeah - Exactly! It was stuff like that that really turned me around to this movie. The also supposedly cannot cross running water either FYI. I thought the bleeding from very Christ-like wounds was a weird choice but interesting none-the-less.
I'm def buying when it comes to DVD

This is a remake of the original Russian version. But from what I hear, it stays true to the original.
