Doing a swap to a 3SGE rev3 - not sure if either of the new 3SGE ECU's I have are set up for an ABS system, so I have some questions...
(1) Has anyone successfully removed their ABS System from their car? (2) If so, did you have to replace all the hubs, etc - or did you just rip out the controller from the engine bay and re-run brake lines? (3) Any significant weight loss gained by shedding the ABS? (4) If I kept the ABS - would it still work with the new ECU without being reprogrammed? Thanks guys; ![]() This post has been edited by KAOS: Feb 29, 2012 - 11:20 AM -------------------- |

I did it, and it's not that hard. Just time consuming with taking out the old lines, putting the new ones in, then bleeding the brakes.

Thanks Dustin - you've been a wealth of knowledge lately. ![]() ![]() And for some reason I suck using the search. I typed in "ABS removal" and didn't see anything... So you paid around $80usd for new brake lines and non-ABS master cylinder? Thats not bad. Anyone try bending their own brake lines? -------------------- |

Bending the brake lines isn't hard. The hard part is trying to put a flare on the end.
I just buy fixed lengths of brake line with the flares already done and bend them to fit using this tool from harbor freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/1-8-eighth-in...nder-94571.html |
