This is the story of my car.

I bought my '94 GT from a man in Ootewah, TN in June right before my 17th birthday. It was a internet listing... It looked beautiful in the pictures, so of course I was very excited about $3,000 price covered by an insurance claim from wrecked Maxima (may it rest in peace). I drove 2 hours to find the car and when I arrived... shoot, it was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. It had a crappy body kit not made for a Celica stuck on with tiny rivets and some kind of caulk, classy flame/lightning bolt decals that had worn down to the sticky, the 18" silver rims had so much clay dust on them they were red, the front bumper at one point had a plate attached and was never repaired, broken high beam and good lord the paint... Plus a couple minor mechanical things, no biggy. I could fill a whole page with the bad. I loved it! I've always been a Celica fan so I took it and promised I'd do all the work myself...

So far in 3 months I have replaced a ruined driver's door and a rusted out hatchid. I removed the side skirts, cut them, extended them with fiberglass and am now molding them back on (the whole kit myself). I bought a Kombat front bumper and have to bend the frame to fit (hit and run in the former life)... I am repainting it myself...

how about you spend a month or so reading up on here and get some good info. as far as support..... THERE IS NONE. that's just how it is. a Celica is not a Civic. You gotta pay to play. smile.gif anyways good luck with everything. hope all goes well. post a WTB (want to buy) in the buying/selling here ,That might help.

Welcome smile.gif
Im looking forward to seeing the exterior work biggrin.gif love seeing things molded that arent supposed to be there smile.gif lol
Our cars are alot older than people think, and not as many survived, so parts arent as readily available frown.gif But alot of great things u can find in the forums that people are parting, and can get things for great prices!
Read up on the info articles, and how-to's and FAQ's, helped me out a ton! and the community IS! very helpful, even though u can get the occasional person that will tell you off and say to search and not actually help lol. but 99% of us are very helpful, and full of useless (but sometimes very useful wink.gif) knowledge smile.gif
GL with the build and get some pics

if you look online you can find some good deals on paint, most of which is a single stage acrylic paint though, try eastwood.com, they have a ton of different varitiys of custom paint single stage as well as base clear, and i believe some triple stage paint, but i think personally the base/clear paint is best look for the price, not a fan of single stage although it is easier to make touch up repair on

Thanks dude. I actually know a guy at napa and I'm getting a good price on base/clear... need a job ha i'll try to get some pics up soon. I wasn't sure if i'd have the car long after my second ticket... and 2 wrecks... bad luck, not bad driving lol

It's primered out now. have to buy reinforcement bar soon but i think my dads covering that. then i'll mold the new bumper on. im sure i'll change my mind about color a few more times before it's time to paint her up. progress to come soon though.

Take my advice do not mold the front bumper in, if you ever have to take your headlights out you are SOL, just get the lines as close as you can

I fixed my front lip in a similiar fashion. I just used glass, but lots of layers. Came out decent, I still need to patch up the front a bit.

Yeah. I still have no idea how they were on my car when I got it and I wasn't paying attention when I took them off originally. But it was pretty bad. I'm takin my camera with me today while I fix my speakers so I'll snap a full picture. Still waiting on my reinforcement bar... but whatever. Front end isn't THAT raggidy.

BTW anyone else had a problem of putting an amp in and front speakers going out? I had my subs hotwired to the reaer speakers for awhile and the second I put in my amp my front speakers blew... but there was no pop or anything. Just died... so I'm gonna run speaker wire straight from the head unit I guess cause the new speakers didn't work either. Just curious.
