Anyone know a website where I can get the stock exhaust manifokd with cat for my 98 gt. I put a cat delete header on and it sounds like crap, so I want to put the stock back on but my original was scrapped with out me knowing. So a website would be great thanks.

No, I had a aftermarket muffler, and the header made it sound raspy and ricy. So idk what I was thinkin but I got a full 2.5" back exhaust with a skunk 2 muffler. So my car is staright piped, catless header, 2.5" exhaust straight to muffler, and I need my stock manifold with cat cause its killing me and my gas, egr doesn't have any back pressure, so I have 2 codes all the time, egr insufficient flow and catalyst failed emmissions haha

FYI your car does not sound like crap because you have an aftermarket header on it, it sounds like crap because you have a 2.5 inch catless straight pipe with no resonators, that is your issue, go get a resonator put on it and it will sound fine, my car has a aftermarket header and a no name muffler and it sounds great

deff put a resonator on it... i have an ebay header with stock pipes, gutted cat, stock resonator, and magnaflow muffler... sounds a little raspy bc of the echo effect in the gutted caty, but otherwise sounds great

Resonator for sure, if it still sounds raspy after that than add a high flo cat after downpipe and that should take care of it. My exhaust sounded raspy until i put a high flo cat on it.

I was planning to get an exhaust + header for my celi soon, I am very unfamiliar with exhausts and making them sound good, would it be a good idea to grab an ebay header and head up to the local muffler shop to have them run 2.5 with a decent muffler?

I guess the better question is, how do I put together a decent sounding exhaust that will not break my bank and not sound like ass. I hate the ricey sounding exhausts that are driving all over town.

The reason they sound ricey is because they don't take the time and money to make a good system. I say eBay header, hi-flow cat, a good resonator, 2.25" piping throughout, and a muffler like an HKS Hi-Power or Megan N-1. Something universal, but not from Pep Boys or the like.

Thanks for the help Hector, quick question, why 2.25 rather than 2.5? Personal preference?

No problem! And you don't really need big piping if you have an N/A motor because you lose back pressure. But I've seen other guys on here with 2.5" piping so you can't go wrong with that either.

What constitutes a good resonator, I see a bunch on ebay that say they are bolt on replacements from walker, but they do not specify their piping size, I am guessing if they are bolt on they will be whatever the oem size is, should I be looking for a resonator that is universal and have it installed with the piping?

Thanks again for your help!

Most exhaust shops should be able to do the custom work whether you just want to weld the resonator in, or if you want flanges welded onto the resonator for easy removal. The latter is more expensive, but that's what I'd do. The previous owner welded the OEM cat to the OEM manifold and now I need to buy another cat in order to install my header. Not convenient lol

I was told to get a dynomax bullet muffler, its like a resonator but told to quiet down the exhaust and remove raspiness, anyone have feed back on those?

I don't have any personal experience with a resonator/muffler 2 in 1 combo, but I have heard that they sound terrible.

Huh? Welded cat to manifold? Why?
