Hey guys,
So yeah....I am having trouble finding the 3rd ECU plug for the wiring of my 3sgte swap. I can find plugs that matches, but I need to find a plug with all the pinouts full. The plugs are really hard to open without damaging them, so its complicated to just open them up and put wires in them. Dave (aka DG Performance) is doing the wiring for me and if you guys can help me figure out how I can get that 3rd ECU plug, that would be awesome for me and him. Thanx in advance. OH yeah, the plug has 11 pin slots on top and 11 on the bottom row. 22 pin slots in total. -------------------- |

Re-pinning the plug is simple. I did it at work with zero tools and a small paperclip. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

If repinning is so easy... how do you get the plug opened without breaking it or causing any damage to it? I have broken a few of these attempting to rebuild a plug and i can not find an easy way to get the plug apart.

http://www.celicatech.com/vfewdsou/1990/90...ic/troubles.pdf I think the retainer is a little bit different but that is the basic idea. I'll have to go look at the plug tonight and try and take a few pics for you. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Sweet man, that would be awesome if you could take some pictures. By the way, do you happen to know if the dealership sell any plugs, and if they do...do you know the part number?

Any Toyota 22-pin plug will work, most Corolla and Celica autos have them, Camrys, etc. Repinning is extremely easy with a small precision screwdriver, pick tool, paperclip etc. I repinned about 1000 of these today *bangs head on desk*

How much would you charge for that? -------------------- |

I found 3 22-pin plugs today at this local junkyard. Opening up the plug was the easy part, I just need to know where I might be able to find wires to fill in the pinouts and the metal pieces to go on the wires. Does anybody know?

okay, I just found the hook-up wires at radio shack for like $5.99 for 60 ft. But they didn't have hook-up connectors small enough to fit the plugs. Advance Auto parts and Auto Zone didn't have them either. Do you think a car audio shop will have them?

You shouldn't need to fill all of the pin locations. You can re-use the old pins and wires it's just that some of the colors won't match, no big deal.
If you absolutely must have the connector ends you can try mouser.com or digikey. You'll probably have to call each one since I haven't been able to find the connectors in their catalogs but they can usually find anything you need and if not they know where to send you to find it. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

What is the name of the 22 pin connector? Im doing my swap and I think I got the 3rd plug. All ecm plugs are full of connectors plus got two more connectors 4 inches off ecm. One grey and one white. Also I have the C.O. relay plug. Then I have wires hanging off those connectors with no other plugs. On my gt I dont want to cut any of the wires that are staying on the car. So I found a connector (13 pin) and repinned it. So hopefully it will be plug and play with most of the combination meter wires. On the rest that I couldnt come up with a matching connector, I sheered the insulation off the wires, behind the connector and soldered then wraped with electrical tape. I'm trying to make the wiring as plug and play as possible. I hope this helps someone in their swap. Also if anyone needs an extra 13 pin connector II2 let me know. I got an extra. Thanks guys!

Thanks guys! oh dude, I only needed that 3rd ecu plug, but I found 3 of them at the junkyard.......two came from Camry's and one came from a paseo. Justin (wannabegt4) hooked me up with the schematics for reppining it. It looks like you don't have to actually have to fill in all the pins, you just gotta put it in the correct place.....here's the pic he gave me: hey Justin, thanx again for hooking us up with the diagram! -------------------- |
