Ok,

I decided to make 6G Celicas Forum my home. So far the only thing I don’t like is that I cant attach pictured, not sure if I need to be a gold member or not but I’m sue we will get past that.

A little background, I was one of the first people to successfully put a 3S head on a 5S block way back when and have had a few versions of what’s now called the 5S-GE/GTE. I have built a 86 Celica GT NA that was really fast and only saw street racing and was never really tuned with a EMS. I have built a 91 MR2 that made 180whp on EMS NA with a 2.2 5SGE engine with a Gen 3 3S-GE head, I am in the process of getting a lot of bugs sorted out and should be putting down aprox 220-260whp soon. Now I’m in the process of building my 94 Celica GT Hatch.

Info / thought process on my build:

I’m looking to go after the world fastest FWD Celica and and make close to or more than 800whp and it be rev-happy. I have a custom build 2.1L stroker engine that has a JDM Celica ST205 3S-GTE Group Spec A head, a 2.2 5S-FE Camry US bottom end, a Second Gen 3S-GTE 2.0 Mr2 turbo crank, with pauter rods and custom 8.5:1 CP Pistons. The head was build by mr2power.net and it has custom cut blank 1mm OS ferrea valves, radius angle valve job, port and polish, ceramic coating on the combustion chamber, dual valve springs from the super 2JZ and shimless buckets under my HKS 272 cams,

I have the Turbonetics T72 dual BB turbo with the water-cooled option. I have a custom dual stage injection manifold with an extra set of injectors on each runner which totals out to 8 injectors on the engine. I plan on tuning the system with E85 and or meth (this may change later on). I have a custom one off Full race exhaust manifold build by them locally. I actually got them to come out to NJ and I had my car towed from NY to their local shop to build it for me. I also had them build me a 3-4 inch down pipe to hang off the turbo. Once I have the transmission built and installed. I plan on getting a custom 4-5inch mid pipe made to connect to a dual 5 inch mufflers along with my custom 3inch intercooler piping.

The transmission I plan on running is a 99 solara E153 with a Quafe LSD and a custom set of one off Drive Shaft Shop 800WHP axels. I am not sure which clutch I am going to run yet and that might depend on sponsorship. I plan on running a AEM to tune this bad boy and have some real fun. You can see pics in my profile and ill try to link a few in this thread.

Thanks Guys… and its ea”Z”y.. I just want to let you guys know that this is going to be a WOP.. This project has already cost me so much money already and will cost me a few more K just to get it all put together. The engine has been done and sitting in crate for like 6 years now, along with the turbo, DB, shifter cables, mounts, 16K used solara transmission and all the other parts. I am trying to get full/part sponsorship for a few items and working with a few companies to get things for free or discounted rates. But so far everything dumped into this project was 100% all my hard earned money.

Things I’m am working on getting sponsored:

Quafe LSD
Custom Full-Race Traction bar
Twin Carbon Clutch setup
Light weight race rims/skinnies
Slicks
Brake setup Front/rear
Custom transmission housing / protection guard
Custom Axle setup
Custom Exhaust (4 inch mid pipe to dual 5 inch mufflers)
Fuel system (Cell, lines, pump & filters to mate to my rails)

That’s all I can think of for now and will be working on getting all of the above. Wish me luck..

Eazy, I would like to make a suggestion and not go with the driveshaftshop axles. They are so f-ing expensive its ridiculous. Back when I was going to turbo my Camry, I asked them for e153 axles that supported 600hp and they wanted $2000 for them. Then they went to say that that was the lowest estimate! @_@
You're way better of contacting Josh at Garage CRW. I can't remember which other reputable shop he made a set of axles for, but I believe there's a picture of them in the drag section on MR2oc. They're way thicker all the way through the shaft.

I will take a look at them.. the other thing thats good about driveshaftshop is that they will also give me a new hub to press in. I am working with them and we shall see.. I kind of want to measure twice and cut once with this project.. its 6 ears or so in the making thus far and some really talented hands have been involved thus far.

Change up on the axle setup.. I am now working with CRW..
I am going to press in the 1991 camry wheel hubs which have 30 spline vs 26 spline. Then use modded Mr2 axles and install them in my celica. They are going to be 300m chromoly from end to end and the half shaft is going to be heat treated along with the rest of the axle parts/hubs/diff. Cost is going to be just about the same and both companies have proven that their products work.

oh by the way, your goal might be achievable in the 6th gen world, but in the FWD celica world, you have big hurdals to overcome. Me for one, my 7th gen is making 550 to the wheels and its about to break into 700s when i twin charge it

it made me 700 on my Supra, i ran out of CAM. there was plenty more power to be obtained, but the stock cams were just choking it. plus 700 on a stock engine is pretty hairy. i have heard that the 2JZ can take 800 stock but i wasnt going to push it.
