i have a friend who is selling an 4afe 1986 corolla fwd. the car is strong even with 250,000 on it. exterior could use help, but not bad for the year. inside is pretty good.

my problem is that he wants $1,000 for it. i hate to try to bargain with him because $1,000 is not much for a running car. what do you guys think?

No they came with a 4AC. The FWD E80 Corollas had a carb motor and the RWD ones had the EFI 4AGE

An easy way of telling with Toyota engines is that if the engine code has an 'E' in it, it's EFI, and a 'C' means carburated. Another example is 4AFE vs 4AGE. The 'F' means narrow-valve angle and the 'G' means wide-valve angle. The wide is just more aggressively tuned and better for power and narrow is more for economy.
