Hey, I'm finally about to pick up some good stock 15's for emergency wheels for registration tongue.gif and mountain runs/track. All I'm wondering is how is the ride on a harsh spring setup with a bigger tyre wall and smaller wheel compared to a 17 inch with a 45 tyre wall? as my Eibach setup is pretty bone jarring and I'm interested to see the difference, tyres on the stock wheels are 205/45/15.

Has anyone weighed the stock wheels?

Thanks.

the stock tire size should be 205/55/15...but whatever, i would imagine the ride would be softer with the proper sized tire.

The stock alloy wheels weigh 17 lbs. I noticed some differences going to the 17" scion tC wheels. Right away I felt like I needed to do an engine swap to push them. The ride seemed a little harsher too, but not by much. I put the 17s on before I lowered it so that was with a stock suspension. After lowering it the car felt a little harsher still, not enough for it to bother me though. I feel like it is more responsive.

I actually read somewhere that the tC wheels weigh 22 without tires, quite heavy. I can't say my ride is harsh at all though.

Yeah I mean't the stock 15's

And my ride is rough as I'm lowered on eibach pro-kit which is stiff, I was just wondering how much different stockies would be.

17 lbs. is for a stock 15" alloy without a tire and I believe I didn't have the center cap on either. I just shipped some a couple of months ago.

The scion wheels lifted the car quite a bit so that's why I lowered it. The eibach sportline springs put it back down to about where it was on the 15s. That's why I sold the 15s and my winter tires. Putting the 15s back on with it being lowered would kinda negate the winter tires.

I have a scion rim out in the shop without a tire on it. I'll weight it when I get out there.

Put these on today and its definitely a better ride but not by heaps, I like the feel of the smaller wheels, can't wait till I put some sticky tyres on them smile.gif.
