If my girlfriend was expecting, the last thing I would be doing is spending money on my car. That excuse would go over like a fart in church.
Better idea: tell them my girlfriend will make them lumpia. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Loempia > what I said. Man I love me some Indonesian...
Glad you agree, I read it in a book titled "Never Be Lied To Again" and thought it was the biggest crock of sh!t available. On another note, how is the placement and balance versus the old 5S, any weight distribution change? Doesn't seem like any weight distribution change. The passenger side has always sat lower than the driver's side. When I installed the coilovers in the rear the driver's side sat up significantly higher than the passenger side - I ended up needing to lower the driver's side rear and raise the driver's side front to get it to equal out side to side.

Like others on the MR2 boards - It looks like an oil passageway.
Shop wasn't able to get to it this week. No problem. It just allows for more goodies to be here in time for the unveiling. Ordered Cusco OS strut bars for the front and rear. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Just left the shop
They're just getting started on it after one guy being gone all last week. I went in and showed them what I need. They're going to cut the front mount apart, and bolt the plate to the wall, then bolt the mount to the engine, and tack the mount together. Easy peasy. The bulk of my concerns just went right out the window I had a picture of the B-pipe that Brad Bedell had made for his V6 MR2 (the guy who made my headers) and I sent that to the mechanic so he knows how to do up the exhaust. He also noticed that the EGR cooler plate on the backside of the motor was leaking a little coolant, so he's going to take care of it. Should have it back at the end of this week! Picked the car up this afternoon. Decided a good shakedown run would be to drive it from Enumclaw to Seattle (~30 miles) and back.
Findings on this shakedown run: - I need to raise the front end a bit and turn up the stiffness on the coilovers, as it is presently set to the softest setting. - I can smell gas, but I don't have a gas leak. Need to investigate. Probably an improperly ran vacuum line. Other than that it was solid. It pulls well in all gears at any point in the RPM range. The exhaust isn't too loud unless I really get on it, and it has a hint of rasp due to the headers and lack of a catalytic converter. OMG. Torque! Mwahahaha. I will get some videos up tomorrow. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Found the source of the gas smell - bad o-rings on the front bank injectors. Replacing the o-rings in about 30 minutes.
Pics and video will wait until tonight. My camera is in the lady's tC. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Replaced the o-rings, and the leak got worse. what was first a small leak was now a fountain!
I then realized I did not lube the o-rings or grommets with oil beforehand, and I had pinched one and snapped it. Replaced them all over again and no more leak! Took it for a long drive and dialed in the suspension. All the way hard in the front, and 5 clicks back from hard in the rear. No more rubbing. I need an alignment still to straighten my steering wheel and to take the caster out of the passenger front. The tire is sticking out past the fender and rubs just a little on bumpy turns. Once I can put a couple degrees of camber I'll be golden. The Mrs. gets off work at 6:30 (Pacific time) and we'll be getting some videos posted. So happy!!!! -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Nevermind me slipping the clutch - I'm still trying to get used to the heavier clutch and lightweight flywheel.

Now that's a fine amount of torque.
Sounds good, pulls great, and very unique. Well done. Compared to the old engine does it throw you back in your seat? -------------------- Has no more Celicas

Oh yeah, definitely. It was weird being in 4th gear just cruising around and pressing the pedal to the floor used to cause the 5S to make a lot of noise without much acceleration. Now when I put my foot to the floor in 4th gear I get pushed back in my seat and it rockets forward.
To give you an idea - that clip is a 0 to ~ 70mph run. I let off right as I went around the corner out of sight... and that's with me slipping the clutch. Its quick. I recommend this swap to anyone! -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money
