Some guy on Craigslist was saying that he has a 22r engine in a 1995 celica.
Is it even possible to have a 22r engine in one cause he said he has one in his and I told him he was wrong and now it's turned into a huge debate. Can someone tell me if this can be true or not |

the 22r is a rear wheel engine, it uses most of the bay in my car, and no way yo can fit it transverse with a tranny...

That's what i was saying!
Here's his post: http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/2092222753.html his first reply back to me after I told him he was wrong: "you better do your research some more... the motor was made until 1995 and just so happens to be the one in my car... look it up and re edit your message" This post has been edited by mkernz22: Dec 19, 2010 - 10:40 PM |

If I could think of all the other RWD setups that Id dream about cramming into the Celica, a 22R would not be on the list.
Now I kinda wanna see pics of this set up, demand pics! This post has been edited by Spider77: Dec 19, 2010 - 10:40 PM |

I work in an automotive field.
I know people like to talk out of their ass when it comes to cars. He is obviously wrong and you should take the higher ground and leave it as is unless your serious about buying the car. This guy does not know what he's talking about, the 22R is a RWD engine, I know because my dad has a 85 GT-S Convertible and it has a 22R-E, no way that engine would fit under our cars hood, he's just plain wrong
YUP! lmao and i doubt he meant 2.2 because he said in the email that the 22r was made until 1995... Well I do believe the 22R was made until 1995 but it was only used in the toyota pickup, from what Ive been able to understand |
