I know that the fuses are good, which means it is the wiring....how do i check the wiring ....how do i remove the airbag to see if the metal is making contact... cheers to anyone who helps

the one under the hood is a normal 10amp fuse I believe, not a bigger fuse or relay.

here's a pic

I just checked it, the fuse is one lower than what you pointed to, and on the panel i have (cover for fuses) it says that the other one i pointed to is a HORN fuse also

I verified today its not the fuse, i took a new 7.5 fuse and replaced it...and still nothing.... I took the sides off where the screws are to take off the horn, and it looks like its making contact... what color are the cables, the previous owner of the car f***ed with a lot of things in the car, maybe he cut it...theres a black and white, yellow hanging down for sure...

weird wires and harness going into nothing and there is also a led there that i dont know what it goes into...
IPB Image
2 wires that are tapped into the bundle by the door
IPB Image
the blue/red cable, is the same cable connected to the horn (i think) and theres a gator clip tapped into it
IPB Image
Weird Led thats tapped into the main cables...

Edit: I added images....

the horn could be either a positive ground or a neg ground. hook a multimeter up to the end of the horn wire.

ok, now im positive that its the wiring, at some point from the relay to the steering wheel there is a break in the connection...

Update: I found the problem, and im in the middle of fixing it... the cable that is under the pillow that does the actual touching to the metal was snapped off, have to figure out how im going to replace it now...

Update: I finally fixed my horn

Hi guys, reserecting this thread: My horn is out, first time ever. Checked the 7.5A fuse and its fine but I need to check the relay. Where is this horn relay? Looking at this picture above, is it the top-most yellow arrow? I hope its that easy.

Next thing I will check is the connector behind the airbag. Then I will check the horn itself. After that, if none of those things helps fix it... I'm up a s#@t creek and asking yall for more help.

thanks

Probably the cable that goes under the air bag. Mine wasn't working and I didn't notice it until I was taking my heater core out and had to remove the steering wheel. Mine was snapped off probs due to age. It's a simple fix. Hope that helps smile.gif

Yeah I had read that^ in this thread and in others. It was on my list of things to check, which I did... and it was indeed that connector/wire that is behind the airbag. Once again the 6gc community provided me with information that would take hours if not days for someone to figure out on there own. Plus I did find the horn relay... duuurrr... underneath the engine bay relay/fuse-box cover has what each one goes to... the gray box is the horn relay (which btw had no idea how to check if its good or bad). Anywho checking three things, finding the problem, and fixing the problem took ~1 hour). I really appreciate this forum and its contributing members!
