Hi guys! I have been driving my celica for almost 4 years now and i have noticed that after long trips my lower back starts to hurt... I know bucket seats + sports car combo isn't exactly meant to be comfortable for long journeys but i was wondering if you are experiencing anything similar. I love the "sitting in the car" as opposed to the "sitting on the car" feeling so I have adjusted the (stock) seat to the lowest possible setting. In addition, i have noticed that the lowest part of the back of the seat forms a small curve towards where it would normally meet the bottom part of the seat. Now that the bottom part is lower towards the floor that curve is pushing my back kindasad.gif

I feel ya. I'm 6'5", so my adjustments are on the lowest, furthest setting. And I love taking long drives that are torture on my lower back. I think for me it kicks in on about the 4 hour mark. What I try to do (if its a long drive) is to take small breaks in between, get out and walk around (a pretty good excuse to take photos). And even though these seats are not the most comfortable, I have yet to find anything that I can drive all day in either.

My seats have never bothered me. The adjustment that raises the seat up and down is technically the lumbar support, not how low you want to be sitting in the car. It could just be that you need to raise the seat up a bit to a more comfortable position.

njccmd is right.. the foam wears out after so many miles of sitting.

Personally, the seats get to me, I go on many frequent long trips and anywhere after 6 hours of continuous driving, the back pain sets in. After 8-10 hours, when i get out of the car, it takes me a good 10-15 minutes before i can stand up straight again.
