you can use a mustang cobra heat exchanger, they are available on ebay all the time, and fit the opening on the celica bumper well.

wait...really?? I just looked. They are very inexpensive! Will the water lines line up? Or is this a custom installation through and through?

Or is this a custom installation through and through? the water lines will not line up, but not a big deal, 3/4" ID hose works just fine, and of course you would need to fab up mounting brackets. which oil cooler are you talking about? the engine oil cooler that is attached to the block? or the tranny oil cooler thats shown in the pics, or the power steering cooler thats also in your pics? -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

*UPDATE*
Been really busy at work, but I have been able to put in some time to begin removing items for the swap. It was during the removal that I discovered that then engine that was shipped to me is in fact a WRC engine. The pics below show the progress I've made in removing the cars peripheral systems, but also the anti-lag system. I pulled the spark plugs as well to inspect for any internal damage. Cylinder 3 plug (Which I know has known issues because of the cooling channels) had oil on the threads, but the electrode itself looked fine. The other plugs looked fine. I'll go to Toyota on Tuesday, and get a new valve cover gasket. -------------------- |

you gotta use that anti lag system when you get it man! not much of them around, it's almost a luxury to have it so you should definitely use it

yeah its an anti-lag system that doesnt work. its not worth the time or money to make it work, because it requires a standalone system. not to mention the hell it puts the turbo through. the time and money can be made more useful in other places.
good luck with it progress looks great. you'll love that 3gen. much easier to work with from what ive seen so far. |
