As a college student wanting performance the best parts you can get are:
1) Regular, routine maintenance 2) A savings account 3) Patience For a Celica, performance is an expensive goal - the only real ways to get it are to spend money; swap in a 3SGE Beams or 3SGTE or turbo your 5SFE of 7AFE if you want speed/HP OR drop it on coilovers, add sway bars and strut bars, and then some basic weight reduction to make it a nimble handling auto-x vehicle. The cheapest things you can do for your celica to add a little pep would be an air intake (~$50), header (~$100), and then exhaust (~$350) although that'll only give you about an extra 15HP at most. I recommend you save as much as possible during college and just make sure your car is well-taken care of so that when you graduate and get a job the car is still an excellent starting point for what you want. Good luck. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

You're in Houston? You're in the right place. There are a few members in Houston who can help you out. DEATH and D-Man will be able to answer virtually any question you have. But as Brian said, the best thing you can do for your car is maintain it. Go ahead and give it a tune-up with new plugs/wires, air filter, change the oil regularly, etc. You'll find little thing you can do for cheap while you save money through college, then you can get your power when you graduate.

You can get HIDs from members here on 6gc - just check the Buying and Selling forum and as far as projectors eBay is the best place to find them. As Daniel (richee) mentioned, get in contact with D-Man, DEATH, and stephen_lee as they're some of Houston/Texas most ehlpful and knowledgeable 6gc members. Post pics of the car though....and btw, welcome to 6gC. -------------------- Has no more Celicas
