Just a quick question, is there any shop in the northeast area that has experience with a 3sgte swap. I want to pretty much buy a shell and dump it somewhere and have a motor swapped in as painless as possible.

Buy pipes car man, it's a 3sgte RHD AWD swap. I'm hoping it goes to a good owner

I would but I am recovering from a failed build so I dont have the funds to put 5500 towards it. Unless he wants to be a good guy and let me pay a grand a month for it until its paid off wink.gif

I put 10 grand into my honda but was severly screwed by the machine shop. They ruined my block I then brought it to another shop and rebuilt it but I overlooked that they also ruined my head. I cant do it no more, going back to toyota

Trying to part it out to get funds to start another project

I know of a couple of shops in the NE that are pretty familiar with the 3S swap. Namely, one "JDM Guy Garage." Some guy named Manny or something like that... laugh.gif I'm kidding, but seriously, you might talk to presure2. I've talked to him before and he told me that he would swap my car for a fee. Considering he can get it done, start to finish, in two days with no issues, it's well worth what he charges.

Yes you DO.
i second the JDM Guy shop deal. Talk to Manny [Presure2] - he definetly has done the most swaps out of any of us here. Whatever he charged I'd be willing to pay if I were you - it'll get done right the first time.
He's close to in RI somewhere [can be too hard to find - RI is smaller than my neighborhood LOL]

haha thanks for the kind words guys.
a basic rundown for a 3rd gen swap into a GT, with the stock tranny, looks somthing like this (these are all ballpark figures, and i probably am forgetting a couple things)
~3k for a clip
~500 for mantinence parts (water pump, timing belt, tensioner, wires, cap, rotor, plugs)
~3-500 wiring (cost varys depending on setup)
~500 exhaust (add for stainless piping)
~100 fuel pump
~400 clutch
labor is where it gets tricky, depending on what you want for an end result, it can vary wildly, from ~1k-1200, to way more than 99% of people here would think is resonable to spend on a car. lol
if your serious, PM me when your ready.

This is where i got mine done. http://www.enhancedstreetperformance.com/

I was thinking once the weather got better to try and get a celica dyno day there. They have an AWD dyno thats pretty sweet. If there is a CSP meet we can go there a day before or after it.

The partout is going well but at this point I dont plan to start another project until may, I will be without a car for all this time but my honda was my only car. I worked on it for 13 months so whats another 5 months taking the bus. Was looking to start right away with another one but I am tired at this point. Will just unplug and figure something out when it gets warm out again. Looking to put together at least 10 and with rent bills that wont happen till may.

I would not join that dyno day, i have heard bad things about this shop on mr2oc and have had them do a little work on my trac. They did NOT fix the problem i brought it in for and overcharged me twice over the quote they gave me.

yea, i have a guy thats just a few blocks from the house who has great rates and is a very cool guy, although his dynojet is 2wd only.

another AWD place opened recently in seekonk, they have been running 50$ for 3 run specials every other weekend seems like. if all goes well, we'll run by there with jims swap soon.

If things continue how its going now I will probably be ready sooner. Back on my toyota days a few years ago I did tons of research on the 4a/7age etc motors. One of the reasons I want to go back to toyota is the way the 4agze bottom end is. If other turbo toyota motors have rods that big I am golden. I did the pistons, rods, crank, heads, manifold, garrett 60 trim charger, everything on the honda. I dont want to do it again, will a 3sgte handle 500 horse stock with a aem.stand alone and 1000cc injectors, with a 6262 precision turbo? i think its about 1100 cfm.

If u guys dont ban me I can post a few pics of the honda motor
