hmm, i'm guessing that he meant JDM stock strut bar
because in the US we get those two black circles in the firewall yet in Japan they have the bolts there already...(the circles cover the holes for the bolts) anyway, if u have a TRD strut-bar that came w/ ur car...that's just crazy -------------------- |

the strut brace that came on the celica is so flimsy it's really not worth anything. i grabbed one off a junk celica when i got my interior, and it just....ugh...it wasn't even worth bothering to put it on, so it's in my shed somewhere...hehe.

"will you neverstop"
hahaha woo woo anyway, i finally caught a pic of those stock braces... they just go from each strut to the firewall (right? those ones) they don't go straight from strut to strut... nothing like the TRD, looked very thin as well i'll have pics up not too long from now of the actual TRD brace...just waiting on some bolts -------------------- |

yes, exactly. if it was the same as the TRD bar, why would TRD make one? it's lacking the main strut-strut bar that the TRD bar has, and also um...any ability to stiffen the chasis at all. i think it is a stat-padder so that toyota could say it had a brace or somethin on the window sticker...if you think it's the same tho, more power to you, though i'd say your perception of engineering is quite off. -John- -------------------- |

sorry i haven't been around but my password was messed up. anyway i did some searching... knowing the trd brace is nolonger avaiable i gave up on getting on. not the factory braces came in 2 styles, one for a convertable, and one for the hatchbacks. i priced them at the toyota dealers and its like 65for the vert and 55for the liftback. i ordered the vert and i am happy w/ it. not as much of a difference as the gt4 rear strut brace made thou.
