Loving the car and the "budget" build.
Did you find the answer to the water loss? Could be almost anything really, from a busted pipe to leaky head gasket. Have you checked the torque on the head bolts...when rebuilding an engine I always recheck the torque a couple of times until running in is complete! -------------------- |

Hi,
i also proved the EFR 6758 about he fit the 3S-GTE, just in front of the maps he will do a perfect job, in front of the material i'am sure that it is a very good turbo and should kick any garett unit, i just found two issues the one issue i have is that the twin entry's are currently not available for the small series B1 frame, i'am told from borg warner that there is no release date yet but i will try it in the begining of the next year again the other issue that i'am in need of a special version of a adapter becouse i use a corolla wrc manifold which relocate the turbo around 10cm, so it becomes not so easy to get the IC fit greetz This post has been edited by Sunny: Aug 28, 2011 - 5:18 AM -------------------- |

I got a t25 manifold from ebay and hopefully it should fit with the turbo the kkr was a pain because we couldnt clock it well with the internal wg but this one says it has some voodoo magic that helps
My hg is also prbably busted as well...I hope its just the torque on the bolts... yeah the Budget build went out the window when the stock ecu couldnt keep up... This post has been edited by Neon90424: Aug 28, 2011 - 3:42 PM -------------------- |

my engine seized!, i wasnt even driving hard left home and after 5 friggin minutes car stopped made no noise and apparently seized, towed it to the mechanic and the timing belt snapped and the crank wont budge at all...any ideas why? I hope I can save the pistons and rods and bearings...I need a new 3s block.. Mechanic said "That because the turbo went that Driving it Na like forced the engine to much, overheated it once and kept heating it and that caused it to seize"...I had no water in my oil... I'm so pissed right now...Btw the borg warner efr 6758 is on its way...I have to find a 3s block pronto -------------------- |

good news, engine didnt seize the timing belt and its tensioner snapped and wrapped around it and that was what stopped the crank from moving. the engine is completely fine.

you will need to grind a little bit on the head to allow the cam to fully rotate, but no shimless conversion needed for you.
the grinding that is needed can be done with sand paper, it's barely 1 oe 2 mm and it doesn't affect anything, once the cam is bolted in place, and you try to rotate it you will see exactly where it hits. very easy to do. -------------------- |

I'm confused...How did it seize? "Driving it NA like" doesn't make any sense....???

It didnt seize, the timing belt snapped and it wrapped around the tensioner and wouldnt let me crank the engine...a fake seize I guess, I was driving it NA kinda because the max boost I got was 1 psi because its internal wastegate was rattle to **** open by launch control therefore giving me 0 spool whatsoever making me believe I shot the turbo but it was just that stupid detail...

This thread is about to become ALIVEEE again Updates starting tuesday! lotta pics as soon as my new camera comes in! apparently the thermostat was getting stuck which caused the overheating... Fidanza cam gears arrive on tuesday so hopefully the head will be sent to be machined and put together! still no idea on when i get my PFC tho I might have to work with the stock ECU on 272 cams and stock injectors...hmmmm
