My car is a 1996 ST205 GT-Four JDM, it has a Dynatron Alarm/Immobiliser with built in turbo timer.

For the whole time I've had the car, when switching off the ignition key the battery light used to come up on the dash while the motor was running in turbo timer mode and would disappear as soon as the timer had run down.

Recently my alternator died, I replaced it with an item from a 1994 ST202 SS-II 3S-GE car (was all I could get, looks the same, same amperage but without the cooler), now when my turbo timer is running the battery light doesn't come on anymore?

It still illuminates with everything else when the key is turned to the ON position, but just not on turbo timer anymore.

Does this mean anything?

Sounds like you fixed your original problem then! Not sure if the timer would make that kind of malfunction but hey if it's not doing it anymore yippee! lol

I never knew it was a problem? I always thought it was just to indicate that it was running on timer. But maybe it meant it wasn't charging while on timer?
