So I was driving down my block yesterday I saw this Lexus IS300 with theese rims that I absolutelly fell in love with. So I did some research, the rims are from a 2006-2009 Lexus Is, and the dimensions are 18x8 with a 45mm offset. I know our cars come with 15x7 but I was wondering if becuase the rim will sit higher, will the extra inch on the width cause a problem? Would I possibly need to use spacers? If any one has rims that are the same dimensions as theese lemme know how they fit, Im driving 96' Vert at the moment. Thanks guys preciate tha help biggrin.gif

You're gonna need pretty big spacers to make them look not sunken in. 45mm offset isn't that great of an offset for our cars. It makes the wheels look extremely sunken in, my wheels are 45mm offset. My advice would be to not get them and spend your money on wheels with a better offset. But if you reeeeaaaaaallllllly love em, well then go ahead smile.gif

bolt pattern and the offset is just horrible. i believe 30-35 would be best for our cars.

well they are 8, so they may not look sucked in but may give you rubbing issues in the inside

Im pretty sure a 45 offset would not clear the bottom of your strut.
I have 18x8 witha 35 offset and I'm pretty happy with the fitment.
They just barely clear the strut.

EDIT: They might clear the strut if you are not lowered, Im lowered on tien s techs.

The 2IS (2nd gen IS) comes with a staggered set up unless it was AWD. The fronts are 18x8 +45 and the rears are 18x8.5 +50. They are all 5x114.3 and use a 60.1 center bore. Now, I'm not sure if you're going to source out 4 front wheels, or 4 rear wheels, or just keep them staggered, but they are going to looked sucked in. If our cars were 5x114.3 pcd, then your rear wheels would hit the rear struts for sure. But since there's no way you're getting those wheels on without 5x100/5x114.3 adapters, the wheels will sit slightly further out.

It all depends on how thick of an adapter you plan on running, and how flush you want the wheels to be. Do you want your car lowered at all (I would recommend it). The thinnest adapter I've seen was about 1". So with the 1" adapters, you would be respectively running an offset of +20 front, and +25 rear. If you get adapters, I would recommend getting a hub-centric set made. 5x100 with a 54.1 center bore, to a 5x114.3/60.1 to fit the 2IS wheels. 12x1.5 threads for the studs.

Dammit!...i forgot our cars our 5x100 bolt pattern. Now Im startin to second guess myself. Im probaly gunna look around to see if I can find something with a similar style but with a less deep offset, like maybe 35mm-30mm. But has anyone here done that kind of conversion? Would you be able to tell be around how much it would cost me?...and then theres the issue of lowering....i kinda had my mind set....I dont wanna rethink the whole look of my car just for the rims.

Also I forgot to mention....I know the set of 4 comes staggered, If I was to do this I was planning on buying each rim 1 by 1 so that I could makesure that they are all 18x8 (saw them on ebay already biggrin.gif)....Im almost 100% sure 18x8.5 is too wide.

Im not trying to be a dick but your asking a stupid question, the 5 in 5x100 is how many lugs there are now the 100 in 5x100 means that the lug studs are 100mm apart, therefore no they are not the same, they may both be 5 lug but they will not fit without an adapter

225 40 18. 5x100 and 5x114 are not the same pattern. Some rims may have both patterns on them, but they aren't the same.

Ok...Thanks everyone, I know what I gotta do. Im left with 2 choices. Spend the money for the adapter and get the 2IS rims, or go the easy way and look for another set of rims I like. Thanks again....I think this thread is ready to b put outa business.
