Well its becoming time to order some maintenance parts for my 205 and just have a quick question for some of you.

1) When replacing my timing belt, should I also replace the tensioner as well?
I did not with my previous 185, but what is the advantage to doing so?

2) Is there any point in purchasing a HKS timing belt rather than my OEM one, considering I do not plan on doing
adjustable cam gears anytime soon on the vehicle?

I know I had a few more questions, but will update when I remember haha.

-Kellen.

I just ordered the whole set off ebay for like 230$...had it all done at the same time or else they charge ya for the same labor because they got to take the bay apart to get that stuff on...I'd say buy the whole set comes with tensioners water pump etc

I was looking into this as well. Going to do mine in the spring.

Here's an awesome guide and info regarding this.
www.gtfours.co.uk
go to How to/Repair/change cambelt
It makes sense to also change the Alternator and Power steering belt along with a few other things while your at it.

Process looks pretty dreadful to me but if you end up doing it soon keep us updated.

$230 is tempting, but unless its OEM i don`t really want to change with another companies water pump/belt/tensioner..
rhdjapan has the pump for $160, and tension for $60. Then 1st toyota for $40 for timing belt, slightly over $230..
Hmm

i hope it lasts, you get what you pay for on fleabay. i rebuilt an engine that had ebay gaskets in it and they were all crap. not thick enough, breaking, and not fitting right.
